Team 7 Thread

This is my 3rd deer season with it. Hit a doe first year but not enough penetration to kill her. Got pictures of her healthy days later. Missed twice last year. Now starting off in familiar territory again. Lol

Props to you man, I love my old stick bow but even a yard past 15 and i fall apart...maybe next season I'll put down the compound

Sat til noon this morning on public. Saw a handful of deer and caught a glimpse at what I think was a real nice buck. I'm excited though because I found where they are crossing the fence to head back on private. All but the buck used that same trail. It has REAL potential. Just need the wind to cooperate.

Sitting in saddle this morning. Saw 3 does so far. I don't know how they do it but one of the does saw me. Wasn't moving, good cover around me, wind was good. Looked right at me. They are truly amazing creatures. I guess if someone came and sat in my living room I would notice too. Lol. Good luck to team 7.

I didn’t hunt today either. Tomorrow is a federal holiday so I’m doing a mid-day hunt. Wife has vertigo and doesn’t trust it enough to drive so I take her to and from work when I can. I’ll drop her off, hit the woods then hunt till I have to pick her back up.

Headed to some NF land to find some acorns the deer can’t stay away from. When I find them I’ll climb.

Managed to kill a doe on Thursday but wasn't from the saddle so no points there...Have three big bucks working the edge of a field last 3 morning well into shooting light problem is there is zero chance of getting getting back to that spot without bumping the whole field out on the way in..same spot my brother killed his buck from a week ago. I'm going to go in midday Tuesday and put up a couple cell cams close to where we think they're bedding and try to slip into one of those spots this week.

I slipped along for 3+ miles today and never found em anything that made me want to climb over. Just got in. Rifle season opens tomorrow.

Just passed on a yearling, big mama is still hanging with 2 others 66 yards out

Make that 6, 4 freezer queens with two yearlings sitting at 60 and just walked out of my life…….the other yearling was solo came by me and just kept going…..wonder why it didn’t go with the other 6

That sucks.

Did I mention rifle season opens tomorrow? I usually take out some archery frustrations with a rifle, lol

Scouted my way in Sunday afternoon until I found a spot with fresh rubs and feeding sign in an oak flat. I found some buck beds in a thicket about 150 away in the spring so decided to set up. Didn’t see anything and then had 2 guys walk in on me at 5:40. Not sure if they had gotten one and were heading out to get a cart but they were talking loudly. In hindsight, I think I should have pushed closer to the beds.
