Longer story short. By dumb luck I had a smaller doe inside of 15 for 3 full draw and let down. If y'all don't know it's only my second season. Pretty much solo, save for texting friends that aren't so close and this forum on public. Kept my cool. Had my pin on the goodies but it was obstructed. I feel like it was a positive experience, lucky but they're all good experience. I kept my composure. I didn't get busted. I made solid ethical decisions even when I wanted to end it so, so bad at 10 or 11 yards. I rode out less than ideal weather ( maybe 60 turning to a rainy 50). Had it stop very obstructed , gave it a meh as a go for broke move. Which it moved into all but the perfect position lol. That was cool!

Anyway, didn't connect but a cold, wet great experience nonetheless :) Also not the shortest story, or well written. Off to bed to do it again in dry gear in the morning. Hopefully I'm not coming off as whiny

Good luck with this cold front y'all!

I took off work yesterday to catch the beginning of this cold front. I set up in a transition area by some known buck bedding. Halfway up the climb, I had a nice 8 pointer come in to 25 yards. While still staying in place, a 2-3 year old 8 pointer came inside of 20 yards and bedded for an hour and a half. Talk about sore feet standing still on the power portion of a one stick for almost 2 hours. Didn’t see any deer after that but I set a few presets for today.

Fast forward to this morning, this young man got his first deer! Safe to say he’s hooked!image1.jpegimage0.jpeg

Got my results. Yep, tore my ACL. Also a radial tear in my medial meniscus which is probably more concerning long term. Grade 2 MCL partial tear which is the rehab to be able to hunt pre surgery.

Been a roller coaster of emotions all week. I know I got this, but today was a dip. Stiff and sore. Cold front.

Knowledge is a funny thing with health. Now that I know how much damage I did, it hurts worse. Ain't that funny.

I live for this month and next. Battled through some moderate injuries before, but never anything this limiting. Oh well. Not looking for a pity party. Get after it tomorrow.

Won’t give you a pity party although it sucks for you. Will tell you I broke my left ankle a few years back, like snapped a bone into two pieces, they told me I wouldn’t golf that year let alone by the April league start time. Won our league, lowest handicap I ever held. Nothing feels better than proving people wrong. Go get ‘em.

Hate to hear there's that much damage. I'm sure you'll power through the rehab.

Daughters hooked after our close encounter the other night. She wants me to wake her up for an early morning hunt tomorrow morning here's hoping the enthusiasm is still there in a few short hours
