Goin after my buck tonight! Wish me luck!
Good luck out there and have fun.
Sorry team..... just shot over a 6 point. No points from me tonight. Woulda been my best and second bow buck.
No worries. Take good shots and let the chips fall where they may. Regardless of the contest the emphasis for me will always be enjoying the hunt and the woods I'm sittin in.

Man ,the weather looks awesome for the NY opener on the first and the following weekend too. Daytime highs in the 50's and lows in the 30's. I am optimistic and would love to get deer or two on the ground in the first few days.

Had 2 slicks at 30 yards feeding tonight but never got a clean shot. Had one of em at 35 yards once with a small window but just would have had to fit it in a pretty tight window. Just never felt great about it so I passed.

Football game tomorrow night otherwise I definitely would! Got the tree picked out I’m gonna get in. Hopefully be able to get back out Saturday night...and I hope that acorn tree is still hot. Acorns are falling fast here in SE Missouri.

I pulled a muscle pretty bad in my lower back this morning. Still barely able to walk. I’m going to have to have some serious healing before season opens Saturday morning. I’ve got a sweet preset waiting. I just hope I can hike in and climb the tree.

Lower back problems are a drag. I have had a few. I had a pretty bad sciatica episode a few years ago and months of chiropractor and massage therapist visits fixed it. I hope yours gets better faster than that. I had some faster resolving spasms too

Back when I used to shoe horses I had back spasms a couple times. It kinda feels like that.

I don’t think it will keep me out of the woods. But I might sit on the ground with a crossbow instead of in a tree with the compound. I’ll have my son cock it before I leave home. If I’m not in the hospital or called to a pastoral emergency I’m going to be hunting on opening day!

Great attitude @PastorKen! But don’t push yourself to hard archery season is a marathon not a sprint !

I respect that. You’re a good man. I’ll pray your kids get well soon.

Shoeing horses seems rougher on the back than being a mason even. We have some horses and a friend trims their feet. He just turned 70. I feel bad when our big horse jerks her foot away...
