He ain’t a monster, but he’s my first 10 point. I’m pretty stoked! I’ll post some saddle pics in the submission thread in the morning.

Congratulations. That’s pretty much a monster where I come from. Great buck!

Perfect 18yard shot on a doe. Fist saddle shot! Headed down now!

Well. Had blood for 20’yards then Gone. Waited an hour to track. Fanned 1/2 mile or so looking for her. No luck. No more signs. Thoughts on shot? You can see impact. Might have been a tad high, possibly “no man’s land?”

I’m not sure I see the arrow. I see something red but your nock is green. Is it one of the circles I made?

One, how'd she react to the shot did she buck and kick then bolt? How high were you? Think shot angle. Did you see where you arrow hit the deer? Did you find thw arrow?
Does the arrow smell sweet or sour? Is there any brown or chunks of stomach matter? What angle was the deer at? Broadside, quarter to/away?
Are there bubbles in the blood? A lung hit will look punk and frothy. Muscle blood will be like fire engine red. You can have both types of blood mixing. Liver will be almost purple.
I take pictures of my blood trails, these are pics of a double lung hit last November.

I appreciate the congrats, guys!

Hopefully your able to recover her. Shot does look a little high and maybe back if I’m seeing it right. Possible back of a lung/liver depending on the quarter.

Was out for 4 hours and saw/heard nothing. Shortly after sunset, I got down and walked back to the cabin. Not 10 minutes later, 3 doe were standing in the field I just came from.

I had an encounter with another non legal spike on the ground early in the am, 5 pigs walked out but to far for a shot, and had a family of coons keep me entertained for the evening sit.
I had a green light for this morning hunt only....had to be home noonish....woke up at 3:45 and decided I'd be lazy and went back to sleep.
Next weekend nothing scheduled so more than likely no hunting but the following weekend I'm back in the same wma I was in yesterday as a guest on the first muzzleloader....according to the more experienced peeps than me, those first hunts of muzzleloader are ur best chances of witnessing "rut" activity and "chasing". I've never seen that stuff so gotta take their word for it....I guess we'll see. 17 wide 8 point taken yesterday....pretty nice 1 for around here.

Went to bed at 2100 last night and woke up at 2300 to my cabins electric heater arcing and sparking. Went out for 2 hours this morning and saw nothing.

May have spoke too soon.....looks like maybe her plans are falling thru and maybe get out this afternoon....at least I'm well rested.....hahaha slept to 8:15 which is unheard of for me

Guy at the check in station said everybody up in the north end of the wma and that's where I normally go so I just picked a spot on the map down south I've never hunted.before....long walk.and there is a cell camera maybe 60yds from me but no evidence that anybody been in here hunting, this is the first hunt in this wma. 6 or 7 scrapes and all the little pines are rubbed fairly recent.....fingers crossedScreenshot_20221008-170305~2.png

Even sit was where those 3 doe came out last night. Once in the tree, my daughter tested me saying she was sick and it felt like covid...again. So, a quick change, pack up and 2 hour drive home. She doesn't have wuflu and it's most likely a continuation of her mono.

Next chance is in 2 weeks.
