Believe me when I say I don't give anyone the benefit of the doubt on this one...
But if it's slipping then I would argue that, yes, you're doing something wrong.
@bongo, Are you saying that you could use an amsteel Whoopi sling wrapped just below your tether to hold the tether up? You would still be able slide the tether around the tree, if needed. I also like the ability to be able to move around the tree. All great ideas. But I climb with my tether and want to be able to move it easily around the tree if the need arises say bucks coming from wrong direction. I stand up a little slide my tether around the tree some with my feet I then slide my platform around the tree or walk around on steps whatever you have and then I’m ready till he changes direction again. Which I can still alter as long as it’s not tied off. I have tried double wrapping my tether but really don’t consider it necessary and if I want to change position quickly I’m stuck. I have had more trouble with climbing method slipping like sticks. You don’t double wrap them and their not girth hitched. How about double wrapping your lineman’s belt. Not trying to be negative here but if it slips it won’t go very far it will come tight on one side from your weight and worst case scare you into paying attention. Just my opinion.

I double pass my rope through the girth all the time. Never slips.I have a question for the guys who have used a platform before . With my Mantis and Predator on the way soon , I had a question about platform use.
Do you ever have the tether slip down ( where it’s girthed around the tree ) when you stand and take pressure off your saddle. I’ve read where some people make a double pass on the girth. Needed?
Opinions ?
Thanks
