Tethrd "1" stick VS Catalyst Carbon Pro

If they stacked vertical I may have still considered them. I gotta have a vertical stack to work with my platform. Glad you like them hope they work out for you. I do like the rope lock I hope they make that for other sticks.
Not sure if they’ll stack the way you want them for your setup...

I think Bryan Landry, Mobile Hunting Gear (cbigbear on here) is planning something for the stacking on the platform, should be very soon now.

Maybe I'm just not experienced enough in climbing sticks. I am however very experienced in bowhunting but it seems like a whole lot of complaints about something that is very simple. I know you pay alot for the sticks but you will for any top end sticks and some will have there issues. Buy a new Chevy or ford. Expensive and some may last for ever and some will break down in the first month. I totally understand people waiting for tethrd to work out the kinks but seems like alot of complaining for not much of a issue. I personally love them. Not everyone will. I personally hate hawk helium minis. Traded them the first week I had them. Give them a honest chance.

I am sure they will be a fine stick once they fix a couple of the small issues. I am sure they are a huge upgrade from helium's. There is just a few small details I don't like about them. The weight is obviously awesome. The rope attachment I think is great. Not stacking vertical won't work with my platform the way it is set up. I don't really like the way the end of foot bracket kicks up to a point. In a soft pair of boots I think that could be annoying. Not being able to use cable aiders is another negative for me too. The noise doesn't really bother me every other stick on the market has to be silenced in some shape or form. Guess we will see what the new catalyst carbons look like. But more then likely just keep running the beast sticks. I really like them.

Beast sticks seem awesome. I actually use api sticks that I modified to look just like beasts and I like them to. Just trying these one sticks and I really like the rope tie method and light stick. Sure theres some bad points but nothings perfect.

I don't think some broken pins make these bad sticks. The sticks do, however, have a few issues as they come. Aftermarket accessories are adressing some of those, and helping the sticks perform even better. This is a good thing.

The ONE issue Tethrd has addressed is, however, the pins. This is just my opinion, but the pins weren't advertised as consumable items, and the failure rate is therefore unacceptable. To make a video "first one is on us" is unsatisfactory. Sticks are reportedly showing up with multiple broken pins, which demonstrates a high level of fragility. I imagine T-Nation can do better than they have.

Poo, poo, they cost a nickel each....or whatever....all the more reason to expect more.

But it doesn't make these sticks bad.

While I own and still love my Tethrd Phantom, after having my Tethrd Gen1 Predator platform snap under my feet, while 16-17’ up in a tree. I’ve been skeptical. Here’s why...

To make matters worse, I later made a Facebook post warning people about the platforms cracking after cam-locking and Ernie comments “stop stirring the pot”. I was unaware that you weren’t supposed to “toe-hook” the platform. Had no clue the Gen1 had even been replaced.

People make mistakes, but we’re trusting our lives with these products. When my platform broke I was very deep on a remote piece of public land with zero cell phone service. To have a business owner of the product that could’ve potentially killed me say “stop stirring the pot” when I post warning people about the product failing. That I have a problem with.

I hope you read this Ernie and I pray the Tethrd censorship team doesn’t delete my post. Again.

Completely unacceptable!

Now imagine that the moment you got your new Chevy or Ford home, the company contacted you (and every single other person who bought one) and told you you had to replace the locks on the doors to keep them shut without expecting them to fail. You weren't told about that before you purchased and if the new locks they sent you as a replacement fail, sorry about your luck.

I don't think anyone on here expects a certain brand of sticks to be a perfect fit for every user but it seems reasonable to expect these kinds of things not to happen when you're shelling out what they cost. It seems like Tethrd produced their sticks, found issues with the pins breaking, and just shipped replacement pins to remedy it. Not ideal when they cost what they cost even if you still love the stick as a whole.

Haha, you took what I said all wrong. Everyone is saying they pay to much for these sticks for something to be wrong with them. Same as a new truck. No matter what you buy you pay to much for it. Sometimes you find the perfect truck and nothing wrong sometimes not. Who said sorry about your luck on the pins btw. They sent me new ones and if they break I'm sure they will replace. I'm not good with arguing a point over the internet though so if ya like them you do if ya dont then dont get them.

It’s not the price, it’s how the company did no research or testing of their products before selling them to consumers. You would think a “high end, game changing” product would have some testing to back their claims.

I see Warranty info on Tethrd's sight.

So, broken pins are standard wear-and-tear? Or, something wrong with construction or manufacturing of the product?

Anyway, it's ONE year of coverage:

What does my warranty cover?
Warranty covers something wrong with the construction or manufacturing of the product.
Warranty does not cover standard wear-and-tear or misuse.
How long is my warranty?
We warranty our products for 1 year after date of purchase. Anything after that will be on a case by case basis and can not be guaranteed.

Just saw a video of the glue failing. Be careful climbing until there is a response from Tethrd on the issue. Good news it looks like the roll pin served it’s purpose.
