Tethrd Gen 3 sticks……. Foot room discussion only.

TN and catalyst carbon pros both have less foot room than the ONE sticks. The only thing helping the TN sticks is the extra wide plastic step they went to try to mitigate some of the atrocious flex they had.

This thread is about the foot room of Tethrd ONE sticks not those turds you seem to love so much.

You started the foot room comparison here. Well, here is a comparison to another lightweight option. Let's just have a more fair comparison other than "how they feel".

Turds, lol. Tethrd Gen1 failure. Gen2 Failure. You've called them turds, too.

I'm not here to say C1's are perfect, or great, or good. But you're assertion about foot room just doesn't add up.

You need therapy.

I like this bit of back and forth. Reminds me of home. :grinning:

I'm not wanting to be combative. @enkriss tries a lot of gear and he's a good point of reference.

I just happen to think it's unfair to burry a brand when what has been asserted doesn't seem very significant.

Let’s follow the chain of events to the downfall of this thread.

Mind you the title of this thread is:

“Tethrd Gen 3 sticks……. Foot room discussion only.“

Whining about shipping cost Tethrd charges ensued which has nothing to do with foot room of a Tethrd one stick.

In an effort to stop the whining and put into perspective other companies also charge shipping costs higher than they should. I mentioned Timberninja who exaggerates shipping cost to the extreme in an attempt to get more money from its customers in a sleazy way.

This put @Plebe into some crazed fanboy rage.

I think that about sums it up….

Can we get this thread back on track and not derail it any further???

Someone can get some poster board and make temporary “half circles” of increasing tree diameter size, with a stick held against it, with a tape measure, and take pictures of measurements.

It would cost 2.00 and take 30 minutes.

If they wanted to get real into it, they could stick a boot on the step for reference, listing the shoe size.

Then we wouldn’t have to listen to subjective accounts of an easily quantifiable value.

1. You're on the wrong thread. Shipping cost was discussed in a different thread (linked below). In that thread, I actually brought up the outrageous TN shipping cost to contextualize other's negative comments about Tethrd.

2. In this foot room thread, you brought to the table pictures to give a point of reference to the real estate offered by Tethrd One sticks. I added to the context with pictures of another double step stick, one you claim to have the smallest foot room of any stick you've tried. I'm just showing how that compares to the Tethrd One Stick for context.

You brought another threads discussion into this thread. Part of your fan boy rage I mentioned. Brought TN into this thread which had nothing to do with any part of discussion in this thread.

I don’t know if making sense and compromising on a solution are allowed in this thread.
I’m here with a bucket of Cheetos for the entertainment value.

Come off it. I posted a picture with measurements. That's it. OP stated "it’s pretty obvious the foot room is less than most sticks on the market." By your comparison, the inference is they actually have more foot room. So why not take a look at some more sticks.

The point is that the Tethrd One sticks are right there for limited real estate. Throw in the Hawks, and Beast Sticks apparently. Plenty aren't having a problem with any of those, but it's something to look at when considering sticks.

Can y'all just agree to disagree and call a truce before this thread gets closed? You have each made valid points but I don't think anyone really wants the bickering back and forth. Just my .02

Hey… quit with logical reasoning. That does not belong here.

I had beast sticks and think they are a great stick but i really wanted to try the tethrd one stick so due to budgetary issues ( wife) i can only have one set of high end sticks. With that being said , i notice no difference in foot room. What i notice is i miss the hand hold ability of the beast. But for me the weight, attachment, packability for attachment ropes and stacking method i am not regretting my choice.

About 7:30 in Mark Dohring does comparative measurements between the ONE stick and Beast stick spacing from a tree. He does a graphic comparison on 3 trees about 15min in. For another look at that:

I actually received some Gen 3 sticks. I have tested them quiet a few times over the last few days. Foot room is not great but is adequate for the task at hand which is climbing the tree. Trade off for the light weight stick.

Rope system is great in all aspects from attaching to tree to packing up. Overall packability of sticks is very nice too.

Only concern is the lightweight nature of these sticks and long term durability of the step connection to the titanium shaft.
