Tethrd One Sticks Gen 2

I'm so conflicted. I can't tell if most of the users here want to see Tethrd burn or see them succeed?

Hate to say it but this forum is mostly toxic these days. Probably just quietly log off for the last time. See ya.

Sorry you feel that way. I don’t think it’s toxic at all, some have bad experiences with tethrd and it shows, thats my opinion.
The beast got toxic… especially with politics. I still check it out sometimes… but I’m sure glad I found this place. I like it here and most of the people. :tonguewink:

Hmm....there is more then the usual good nature jabs against Tethrd then the usual threads. But l don't think its at a level of the A&E in ArcheryTalk. Most are not saying they want Tethrd to burn, but disagrees with their practice and business model. Which I think is valid. Sorry you feel that way really, but I honestly think this forum is one of the LEAST topic space online. The moderators do a pretty good job of stopping the toxicity.

Yes, there is definitely TDS in this forum but nowhere near the toxicity level of AT. You typically see the same users piling on when there’s an issue, but the saddle hunting masses still will buy the lightest, latest, and greatest. It’s an easy decision for me; if I don’t like the quality of product a company is producing, I don’t send them any of my money.

If you check out recalled stuff at TMA, it maybe lends some perspective. There's some pretty bad (potential) failures.

Probably Tethrd would take less blowback if it weren't for their (perceived) history but especially the way they create attention with so much hype. I don't want to say they oversell their products necessarily but when you say things like:

042B29FD-2404-4DEB-A5BE-92B11E4221B5.jpeg

And then you got an issue, it draws ridicule pretty easily.

Asking folks to cool the jets on that is like asking Tethrd to cool the jets on the hype train.

Honestly, the issue with the step failure sucks, and assuredly wasn't intentional. I'd love to see them handle it well. I'm really interested in the mechanics of what's gone wrong, and the methodology to resolve the issue.

But having a laugh over "let's get ready to tumble" isn't like laughing at the undersized kid getting pushed over in the cafeteria. They've been pretty brash, and maybe learn to check that a bit. But I suppose it's what sells these days.

It worked in autocad.....hahahaha
That’s simulation/analysis not testing. Testing is testing. Simulation is for design, testing is for proof. Still, not all tests cover all failures but the real world data from testing should validate or trump simulation/analysis.

But… yea I get what your saying lol

Yeah yeah....I'm on 1 end of that spectrum and u on the other...I get it. I never claimed to be smart but I can build some stuff

But that's there still funny

Yea but I’m on one spectrum and the analysis needs are on the other spectrum. I get the same thing from them. They try to tell me what I should see in testing and then when they don’t see it they say my data is bad, not that their analysis sucks! Lol It flows down every way man. Welders hate engineers and I don’t blame them. I’m apologizing for stuff that was designed before I got here. They ask me why we make it this way, or why can’t we change it. They hate that we can’t change drawings to stuff that makes more sense. It’s the way it goes.

Who knows the person that broke that step we have seen pictured? One of you must, can you invite them here and have them tell their story or are they waiting on millions? Was there an aider involved? What is their weight? How hard did they set it into the tree? I hate more than anything that we know absolutely nothing about the failure beyond my speculation and finding with my roll pin. I mean, i think that theory could hold some water or I wouldnt have presented it but someone knows more than me. The picture we have seen is so odd to me with the amsteel wrapped up.

Someone mentioned about a failure cutting you bad. Thats why I left the beast sticks behind. Granted it was my stupid fault, I rope modded them and then had a low to the ground kick out. I was like a mile back with no cell service, had that sliced me open bad I dont know what I wouldve done short of hit the inreach and hope to not bleed out.

I hold the title of engineer as well, not structural or materials. However what I have always heard was that engineers are never content with design. They will always find some way to change something and if left to them nothing would ever be released.

This is also true

Where is this picture?

I have a .5 and went back and forth in my mind for a year trying to decide between these and the LWCG minis. I went with the minis because of compactness and supposed issues with the Tethyrd sticks. Minis seem good so far in prepping about 5 trees but I hope they get these sticks figured out.
