Tethrd One Sticks Gen 2

I don’t know why I am having trouble with the wording on that “350lbs on each side”

Let’s hope this little stress test doesn’t cause stress fractures.

It's a really nice feel good story....we stressed your stick more than we had to in order to put out social media promoting consumer confidence...

If they are testing them all to 350 because that's what's needed, just say so. Otherwise, why the f you stressing someone's sticks more than necessary.

Sounds like it’s 350 on each step and I’m assuming all sticks are gonna get it. I’m just wondering if they’re hanging barbells off them in their garage haha.

If they are putting 350 lbs on each step side at once, then that center part that was cracking is holding 700 lbs.

No thanks.

Were these the guys that were putting their saddle on bags of corn and pushing it off a tree limb? Hahaha very scientific with all controls put in place im sure.

I ended up ordering the Timber Ninjas as a replacement for my One Sticks. I had the mini Beast Sticks last year and while they felt stout, they would squeak on certain tree bark. That's a deal breaker for me as I use my top step as an extension of my platform to move around the tree. I've messed with the Heliums and LWCG double steps as well. I am starting to feel like a dog chasing its tail trying to find the sticks I really like. I hope the Timber Ninjas live up to my hopes. Lol.

I think you will be much happier with the Ninjas. Its time we all let Tethrd cool off a bit. Maybe be humbled and learn quality control going forward.

Damn near everything they make is ripped from someone else so it may just be projection of guilt on my part, but TN had their carbon stick at ATA then the next ATA they come out with the clone and it’s “new product of the year” or whatever dumb title they have, lol.

The beef with the TN that I recall is about the depth of the offset which is no go for me either way because a) I’m a big dude and don’t need to be on no dang CF stick and I have big feet so I like all the offset I can get from a tree.

DanO standoffs and thick walled aluminum stick for me.

So here’s a question. Forgive me if it’s already been addressed previously.

So with them testing these to 700lbs, doesn’t that stress create a weakened structure? I would think an actual NDI would be warranted to assess for structural integrity after stressing it.

So now when they send a stick back saying it’s good, and it breaks, are they liable??

Mike

Good question. Probably be wise to check for any kind of plastic deformation and X-ray them for cracks before sending them back. But I highly doubt they are setup for that.

Tethrd is getting roasted on every hunting forum, facebook page, everywhere, why and heck wouldn’t they just post a short youtube video on how exactly they are testing these sticks, what they are looking for, and a brief explanation of the whole situation, nothing cutesy just speak the truth and put some of these fires out, damage is done already…obviously.. but if this was my business I would be communicating a lot better than this, I’m sure the video would set off another firestorm of people judging the whole process but at this point what is there to lose, I’m sure they are not legally obligated to post a video like that, but lets be honest they made a business by exploiting the awesome power of the internet..facebook..youtube..this forum.. one would think if they have any chance of moving forward after this latest debacle some more transparency is needed, but hey what do I know, I’ve only been in business 20 years and see know change in my future..

You ask a very valid question but, well, they’re not the best at making good business decisions, as evidenced by the continuing saga of product quality issues. And my guess as to why they actually did a recall this time is leaning towards the “celebrity hunters/archers” who have endorsed their gear on each of their YouTube channels - they have a reputation to maintain. Its clear that Tethrd doesn’t care about their own reputation, for them it’s all about dollars. But karma finally caught them.

I wonder how much tethrd gear we’ll see now on those big-name channels going forward. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Mike
