The first official Florida Saddle Hunter Meet up

So.....are we gonna do the saddlehunter group application for St Vincent sambar or what? I don't have a boat and need a ride...probably need help dragging that giant mofo out too....I got zero points, sorry. I don't remember when applications start...June? July? I think 250 bucks for the permit correct?

Edit: I'm impartial for either the archery or muzzleloader hunt...getting in first is nice but the temps be better later in the season but it doesn't matter to me which

I'm down with ya!!! I've got a boat and I haven't been back in 23+ years for a hunt. Keep me in the loop. . .group app I presume? I would like to go when we would have the best opportunity to score (I know, and winning Lotto tickets too) and I'm open for bow or muzzleloader.

I’m down to throw a saddle hunter group application if y’all are. However the points for it are accumulated within the sambar apps not your general points from other state quotas. I would prefer the archery over the muzzleloader though
 
When you log in and apply for the quota, a drop down appears with "individual app" or "group app". . .then you proceed from there with a chosen hunt date. That would be Da' Bomb if we all could get drawn for a hunt.!!! Can't explain, but there is just something I find enjoyable and rewarding about hunting with the use of a boat. It's my "Thang"!!!
 
@Capttickle u got any info to add for the group application?....I think in the other St Vincent thread u stated u have the group application info.... Something like we all need to know a group application # or something like that...5 in a group correct?

You will have a "group leader" and that person will list the others license numbers for that particular quota hunt. If we end up having more than what is allowed per permit, I'm willing to be another "group leader" on my license. Just keep me posted!!!
 
Correct. When you apply for the quota, just apply as a new group. Your issued a group #, then when the rest of the group applies they use that # to join the group. The crappy part is if everyone in the group applies every year the whole group gets a preference point, but if someone misses a yr and you add a new person all preference points are lost and you start over. At least that’s how I understood it.
 
Only a couple more weeks till quotas become available..... What are we doing? How many are for real? From what I understand minimum of 3 needed for a group....
