The first official Florida Saddle Hunter Meet up

Sorry I missed it

Here in central FL I had a quota hunt last weekend and still a couple chances at reissue permits during next couple weeks

I wish meet ups could be after deer season

Lk George is probably 45min from me

Yea our seasons are so spread out that it’s really hard to include everyone. Here in zone c our deer season ended a month ago almost and at some WMA’s like Lake George, you can’t hunt deer anymore after right after thanksgiving. Hopefully next year you can make it though. JayBo, weldabeast and I were discussing a few things to maybe try differently. Maybe charge a small fee similar to saddle palooza and have it catered and shirts made up for everybody. I would like to make it an annual event and maybe get some of the other vendors and companies to come down. I think having some of those guys coming down would make for a great time. Of course we kept it non commercialized so that no one was setting booths or looking to get some compulsive buyers going  and that included me. (I even turned down guys who tried to buy my personal hunting saddle) but I think that made the event even more fun. No one was under pressure to try or buy anything. We all just hung out, discussing our set ups, how we climb and how neat Weldabeast’s “platform” and island shooters back pack was! Everyone got to sit in old classics, new awesome saddles and every heavy and light platform they could. The rain storm in February is not a normal occurrence but between the pavilion, the trees and some blackberry juice, we all made it through lol

Could I bring a POPUP camper to this campground. Not using electric?

I didn't talk to anybody or read official rules....there is a big giant open field then a fence and then the camp area....plenty of room but I don't know if u get kicked out or not. There were other camp areas nearby but I got no info

Damm I didn't know it was an "official meetup" . My chili didn't even score in the top three at my event. I think the judges were drunk! It would have been better to bring it down to Lake George. I'm interested if some are planning on going the March dates.

Yes...we all would have been better off if u had showed up with plenty of chilli
I'm waiting till it gets a little closer to those march dates before I ask to see if she will get mad at me.

We gonna do it even bigger next year cutty so bring that chilli with ya next year. I’m down to hunt in March just can’t camp out that Saturday night since the misses has planned my bday activities for that night lol
You apparently only turn 40 once

Yes, that is true. . .it is also true that things go down hill after that. Moral of the story is act like you're 39 ALL NIGHT LONG!!! I'm game for another get-together anytime you guys are. . .lets just have a little chit-chat with Mother Nature and see if she'll be nice to us.
