Only my second post but here it goes.

Next year will be my first year saddle hunting so I’m here to learn. Already tagged out this year.

I have actually used the butt-out tool for deer on two occasions. Once was great and the other was just a bad experience. Haven’t used it since. Now I cut them with a pocket knife and tie the end up like a balloon to prevent deer poop from coming out while dressing.

I trap coyotes and love the smell of skunk gland based scents. It’s one of my favorite smells.

I’m obsessed with making sure my rear end is clean. Baby wipes after #2 and occasionally throughout the day as a courtesy wipe. If I’m ever disfigured in an accident my wife could just smell the butts and the one that’s baby fresh would be me.

I miss Boudreaux Boswell, I think he had a fallin out with some people on this forum, he taught me as much in the early days of saddle hunting as John Eberhart. He was such a cool cat and his YouTube channel was the only one devoted to saddle hunting in the earlier days. If wish he was still active here!

After reading about people on here doing it, I hunted in my crocs this year when possible. Must be some kind of magic in them because I shot my target buck that day.
Using a butt out tool is harder than AP calculus to me.
I use my shower head on a hose as a poor man's bidet.
I saddle hunt because I have more fun hunting that way, not because it makes me any better of a hunter.

I do zero scent control and think it really hurts my success..
I do just enough scent control to be an annoying hassle, and give me time for a coffee in the morning drip-drying after a sorta-scentless shower. This frequently makes me later on-stand than I'd like. There's no way my beard is anything other than a huge scent wick on my face anyway.
