For electric guitars I have a solid rosewood george harrison fender telecaster and a Fender custom shop set neck telecaster-Dimarzio pickups, coil tap, 5 position switch, floyd rose tremolo setup... Both are extremely rare.

Wowweeee!

I didn't realize anyone here played guitar. I just assumed everyone played the violin, what with all the "fiddle factor" talk...

When I was a little kid (13ish) I was walking back one evening after bow hunting the land behind my house. As I’m walking, I hear footsteps that match my own the entire time (400 yards). Every time I stop, it stops. I walk and it walks. Get to the edge of a pasture and it’s a big coyote that was stalking me the whole way back. Ever since then I’ve been absolutely terrified of the dark. Have to walk with a headlamp ever since.

Maybe add in a sidearm too.

Not really...less so than owning a strat in 6 different colors when they all sound the same... these sound distinctly different. The Set neck can sound like a PRS, Les Paul, strat, or a tele.
I'm just busting your nuts 'cause I'm jealous. Strats are overdone for sure. One of my favorite guitars was an off brand tele that I paid maybe 50 bucks for. Had that spank to it.

Where’s the love for the banjo pickers? We exist too! One would think a hunting group would lean heavily towards banjos and fiddles.

And no shame in my game that I pick a banjo (not good, but I do pick one) and listen to bluegrass music.

I'm not a big bluegrass guy, but I love me some Dock Boggs and Pete Seeger.

I like these for breakfast way more than I should. Also, I have an interview today (where I already work) and spilled chocolate milk on my white dress shirt because I'm a man child. Fortunately, my tie covers the spots.

In case anyone was curious (I doubt it :tearsofjoy: ) it sounds like I should expecting an offer for the new job sometime soon. Pretty pumped

Here's a confession for ya.

I've shot 11 deer this year. Only two got shot in a saddle, and one of those I was wearing the saddle at ground level. I basically quit after I did my duty for team 13.

Climbing trees is (for me) 80% an expensive, bothersome, dangerous distraction from the serious bidness of finding and killing deer, and 20% a good idea due to specific circumstances that make ground hunting problematic.

I've killed my biggest deer from the ground. Funny how that works

I never heard of him. I’ll have to give it a listen. I tend to like the old time traditional bluegrass (Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, Reno and Smiley, the Stanley brothers, mixed with a little new stuff (not necessarily bluegrass only) like we banjo 3. And definitely like the melodic style, a la, Bill Keith, Alan Munde and Noam Pikelny.

I'm feeling the same way. I haven't quite put the same amount of time on the ground, but I really want to hunt more from the ground. Truthfully, I haven't put any time in because I've been on baby duty. It's been like 3 weeks since I have hunted.

I guess that's another confession. I really am glad to be able to be home and help and I love my new daughter, but man I miss being in the woods.

I think it's all a matter of where you hunt and the type of ground cover and understory in your area.

I absolutely HATE hunting off of the ground, because 90% of the places I hunt, you can't see **** from the ground. Even just getting up 10 feet, and especially 15 or more makes a huge difference and opens more shooting lanes.

I have seen areas though where you have better visibility from the ground than you do from up in a tree, but those are far and few between around here. In those cases, hunting off of the ground just makes more sense. The problem with that, is that yes you can see better, but so can the deer.

I still hunt out a Tree Lounger on my family property. Most comfortable Tree Stand ever made hands down.

Granted it has a ton of downsides, but for rifle hunting on private with access to a UTV and ability to set up well in advice of the hunt.....well it works pretty damn good
