I'm running an Alps trailblazer. Modded the compression straps on the bottom in each side to have a buckle. It's been working, but not ideal

I have always carried my bow in, but maybe next season I will try to carry my sticks with my bow strapped to my pack. Who carries their sticks vs their bow? Im always worried that i will see the thunderdonk when im walking in and wont have a chance to choot em with my bow strapped to my backpack. Pros and cons plz.

I learned my lesson elk hunting this year, had a bull run in silent from straight upwind while I was cow calling for my hunting buddy, he had no shot. Broadside, in the open at 35 yards and my bow was on my pack. I carry it no matter what now.

The buck I shot in PA this year, I shot from the ground while walking out a little early as I had to be somewhere. Saw him walking down a game trail and I got below a small ridge and maneuvered in front of him.

not a great pic of the pack cause I have my outfitter fleece jacket strapped over the top, but you can see the sticks and platform...the pouch at the bottom is a US mil surplus mail pouch I believe. WGI_0001.JPG

I also am looking for a pack to go hands free. i had a pack last year that i could carry my sticks, clothing layers, and bow all on my back. however, wasn't in love with the pack while up in the tree. i also had to carry the bow horizontally, rather than vertically. that caused some trouble in thicker cover. i walk a long ways to my destinations, and carrying nothing in my hands is very comfortable. i might switch to WE steps this year, and that should open up some new options in packs. the sticks were the hard part to carry along with my bow. they would clank together in most setups. im loving the variety of packs that are being shared in this thread. keep sharing!

I run this little guy now. Fits everything I need and keeps me from carrying stuff I don't. I put my stepps with aider and Perch inside. Smaller stuff goes in the little pouches. Small pouch on strap for binos. Rest goes on my saddle. Very happy with it and being able to walk up a tree and not have to take it off to get stuff out. The photo of the perch on the outside was a test. I put it inside now.

What's the name of that? I'm looking for a rig to run while using WE steps and that looks just about perfect!

I got it from wallyworld.

Just stumbled upon it. Great price and the inside has a little sleeve that the perch slides in and can be strapped down so it can't fall out.

Mystery Ranch Selway

For late season. I hump it back a ways and it would not be possible to wear my FL Sanctuary bib/jacket on the way in. The pack weighs around 4lbs dry. I ranger roll my clothes and stuff them in the pack. Along with saddle and misc gear. On the meat shelf I carry my knee pad, sticks (sometimes I will secure the sticks to the outside) and Predator Platform. 32lbs total but carries like a dream. The most pleasurable part of this pack is not having any fiddle factor-just throw it in the pack and zip it up.

I’m a ROS guy but have packed LWHC on the outside no problem.......

Carries the beast sticks well? Is there room to pack bulky cold weather gear such as sitka fanatic bibs and/or jacket? Thinking could put jacket inside and fold bibs and place under sticks

It carries them very well, I know everyone’s setup is different. This pack fits this sticks exceptionally well. In cold weather I put my jacket inside pack and strap bibs on, I put them(bibs ) on at the base of the tree when I get my sticks off the pack. I don’t put my jacket on for awhile on stand to regulate heat.........
