"The official saddle hunting backpack thread"

I really dig my Alps Pathfinder. It is a lumbar pack that can roll up to a day pack. Holds everything I need in lumbar setup, and can unroll it for late season to put my layers in for the walk in and out. No problems climbing with it on.

Anyone using a Kuiu Venture 1800?

I did all season and it worked great. I moved the top straps to the front of my pack and strapped sticks vertically. I picked up a kifaru echo and Sherman pocket to try this year.

Picked up the straps recently after reading about them on here to replace the velcro I had been using, It appears they will be a nice quiet upgrade and the clips are duraflex slik clips that I've used the last 2 seasons with no issue.

Okay, so you guys got me interested in carrying my sticks vertical VS horizontal (as I showed on the previous page).

I purchased some wide jaw quick links at the hardware store, and added them to my predator pack.

I had a few lashing straps (that I'll need to eventually cut down as they are quite long) that I threaded through the quick links.

I added my sticks, latched it down, and they fit perfect.

Went from the sog opord, to the mystery ranch pop up 28, to this. The Direct Action Tactical Bag 10 Liter.

For what ever reason amazon has the camo on sale way less then the solid colors. After hiking & climbing
with it several time's, I'd happily pay the full price if I had to. Well worth it.

Really like all the 3 bags but the pop up was a little big in the tree. Wanted something more geared toward
my style of one sticking. Loving it so far. The Ultimate one stick nestles in the bungees on the bottom for a
really nice fit. No bouncing & holds really secure to the bag. The bungee has a draw string built in. What I
really like is being able to swing the bag around for access. Makes getting to my ros or limb saw a breeze
while hanging. Never really have to lay the bag on the ground to start climbing & has infinite loading options.
Climbs like a champ. I'd highly recommend. Very durable feeling material that I think will last for a while. I
have some molle straps coming & thinking I can strap a platform under the lid & use the bungee for my sticks.
We'll see. There is a good stretchy type band that can go around your waist, but I haven't even needed to use
it onesticking after several climbs. The padding on the shoulder strap keeps it where I want it without swinging
around, even during moves. The size of the bag can hold & organize way more stuff then I need to carry, &
I think I carry a lot of "stuff". With all the molle there's a infinite number of ways to organize & load it.

Ditched the lashing straps for the Voile Straps and it is WAY more secure and quiet.

Hoping those little mollie bags will be large enough to carry essentials - calls, snacks/water, knifes.

Can't wait to give it a go next season...

Bag works with sticks & XL platform also. Both inside or on the outside with the
platform or sticks at the bottom or the front. Went through some thick brush the
other day & didn't get caught up. Balances really well. Added 2 molle straps with
quick release buckles to the front, & 2 to the bottom. Now I can just strap whatever
& unbuckle with having to lay the bag down.

Anybody see the Tethrd backpack that showed up briefly on FB the other day?

Picture a smaller kifaru shapecgarge with covered in the same laser cut pals found on the predator pack.

Nice murse.

It's one of those rare moments when Kifaru is having a worthwhile sale. The StrykerXL in Coyote Brown or Multicam is on sale as well as a Killer deal on the Tac Frames. I just priced a MC Tac frame at $317 down from $488. Caveat in the StrylerXl is they are releasing a larger version in 3 to 4 weeks but they say this model will still be around. Details and a preview of the new pack in their IG Story.

You got that right! Even loaded with platform & sticks it still weighs less then my wife's.
The days are long gone now, but it would have made the best diaper bag too.
Roll tide. What is your avatar and patch from or mean?
