What are you doing with your pistol?

My Badlands pack has holster on both sides of waist band

I’m looking for a way to carry my 10mm, mainly during gun season, because I would love to take a deer with it.

The one time I’ve taken it so far I carried it in my pack and just placed it so I could reach it in the event one came close.
Be sure to check your state regs on carrying multiple weapons if you’re thinking of bringing that while also bow hunting.

Kydex chest holster for my 1911. Stays out of the way and easy access. Love it7ABBEA93-FD5F-499C-8669-AC01CFFDF3CE.jpeglike this one except with a Ruger SR1911 in it

I used to use a kenai chest holster, and ut was a fabulous way to pack heat in the wet and nasty swamps. Kept it high and dry, and from rubbing on kayak/csnoe seats. Easy access from a seated/saddled position as well.

However, while I support the right to carry, I came to the conclusion that for me it was just dead weight. I'm just not as scared of snakes, alligators, hogs, bigfeets and meth heads as I used to be.

That’s a hand cannon. What is it?

I can legally carry it during bow season since I have a concealed carry license but I CANNOT kill a deer with it then. It would just be for self defense.

During gun season, it’s legal. Since I have bow hunted some during regular gun season I have carried it in case one got in close enough.

Near EastTN by chance? I went to college up that way and visit often.
I’m living in Spring City on the west side of Watts Bar Lake currently. Pastor a church up the road in Rockwood. Love East Tennessee other than it’s getting too populated. LOL

Just messaged them to see if they make light bearing holsters....

Right on. I really like mine. I had him do it open end and in a regular OD Green not the carbon fiber. It fits as tight as you want or can let it hang little lower. I set the tension so I can ease it out by using two hands for stealth or can just pop it out in case of a swine emergency.

I never used to carry while bowhunting. A few years ago 2 very angry hunters ran in and confronted me as I was going back to my truck. They were mistaken about property lines & being new to the area were confused. I have hunted it for a long time & was in the right. They threated to assault me if I stepped over the line again. I tried to explain but they weren't having it. Since then I always have a little something w me just in case. Mike
