What bothered u on your last saddle sit

I have not but that does sound like a great idea! How small did you go?
I don’t know what’s the best, but this is 3/8” polyester and it works good. Not sure if 1/4” is a thing but that would probably work too. Don’t see a need to got to 1/2”. It looks kinda big here but it’s really not it packs pretty small.

Perfect! I'll be on the lookout for some, thanks

As an example, I find downed beech trees that have all their leaves, have all their bark, and don't look too rough....but they have those dang bumps....I haven't autopsied one but my sense is that the fungus is able to fully invade while keeping the "host" alive until the final coupe de grace

Here's one I found today.

What bothered me: I got too freaked out to rappel down. I’d practiced a few times from like 6-8’ off the ground and was planning to zip down after a short hunt, but I got timid. I spent this week really digging into my rappel setup to gain confidence and have a few more rappels down the chestnut tree. I’m hoping to squash the anxiety next hunt. I’m only 15-20’ high. Time to sack up.

Everybody guilty if forgetting things...boils down to organizational skills usually. When I have to transfer my stuff over to another vehicle when I'm a guest on a hunt is when I start misplacing everything.

well.... walking in I thought I forgot my rappel rope (just started packing it in my bag not in a roll pouch). Decided I would just 1 stick up and down (pain but it works) then I find my rope lol, it was in my bag.

Hunted with no deer sighting and was sweating my butt off getting in and set up.

Rappelled down and looked up..... forgot my damn stick in the tree. :tearsofjoy:

Wrote the day off and called it. lol

Thanks for posting. I need something to hoist my pack and platform. I dont want to climb with stuff on my back. What knot did you use?
I found some of this webbing at strap works. Where did you get yours?

Yep strapworks, but I do need a better knot, this is just an overhand or something and I need to pull em tight every now and then. Strap is way better pulling heavier loads up, like full packs.

Edit: for the knot I’ve just made a double strap thickness loop and fed the carabiner through it and pulled tight.
