What did you buy today?

Picked up a Scott Longhorn Hunter from AT to try out. I've been dealing with some target panic that has cost me a few arrows. Haven't used a hinge release but have used back tension with good results. I like that it still has a wrist strap so I can't drop it and lose it.

Bought my first serious hunting pack. I picked up the Kuiu Venture 2300 over cyber weekend. I’m super excited to try a new pack. I’ve been using a cabelas bow pack from the discount hut for the passed 4 years and it’s treated me well but at nearly 10 lbs empty I was looking to get something a little lighter. Pumped!

Not one , but 2!!

Today I bought a few odd and ends for camp next week. I picked up a hook-less ratchet strap for my ROS to try out next week as well. I have ANOTHER buddy getting into saddle hunting. Which means I am most likely the buyer so it doesn't raise any red flags to their Mrs. I need new friends lol

I bought a Bulldog 450 plus target. Thing weighs a ton and penetration is about 3 inches. Just got it but initial quality and stopping power are great.

Oh good Lord…..

But to stay on topic, I bought a butane zippo lighter refill.

Bought a fiskar splitting axe and it eats!!! I combined that with my early Christmas Present from the folks which was a makita cordless chainsaw and I got as much axe swinging as anyone could ever ask for. It’s been a blast.

The fiskars x27 was 30% off on Monday so I picked one up. I need to break some of this down into smaller pieces so I’ll get to try it out this weekend. My garage door will be blocked for about a week or so I figure.

I have the same fiskars splitting axe. Love that thing. I have my DIY steel handled maul (a 4lb splitting maul) that I've used for years and hands down this thing is pretty much my go to hand splitting maul now. Most of my splitting is done with a wood splitter but when I have some nice dry ash or cherry that splits up pretty easily, I have my wife run the splitter while I'm hand splitting the other stuff that's not to knotty or knarley.

I have a fisker. Heads up, it will eventually get a splinter between the head and the plastic and start cracking.

Thanks for the heads up. It was all they had at the local hardware store so I got it. Hopefully it’ll last a little while.

I have the Fisksars X27 and X25 splitting axes. I love them. I used an 8 pound maul for decades before I decided to try the X27. The hype is real.

Fiskar has a great warranty. I had some extendable loppers that bit off more than they could chew and broke. Sent them a picture and they sent me a new pair of loppers. Not sure if all their products have the same warranty or not.
