What did you buy today?

I've looked into it before...there is a school here in my city.....if u are willing to travel then yes. I started making babies too early....my 10 year old wants to be an underwater photographer when he grows up so when he's a little older I'm gonna take him to some scuba classes....he already pretty good at welding....maybe he'll get interested and go chase down some big dollars

My cousin is/was one. Never really stayed in touch with him much but now he runs the business he started and saves that stuff for the young guys. I caught up with him when his grandmother, my aunt passed away. Anyway, he did very well in life choosing that vocation.

Vortex rangefinder,Vortex 8x36 monocular, summit stands safety harness, summit safety line, FirstliteTundra balaclava, 5 pack of rubberized coin purses, kids wool fingerless gloves. I need 5 more. Gifts for the wife and daughters for the 12 days before Christmas Eve. (maybe for me too)

It is! It’s my favorite among the ones I’ve tried (Predator, Mission, Ridge Runner). They ship fast too.

Good to hear. I've had all of those as well.

I use mine with a daisy chain truckers hitch and it’s so solid! Don’t have much Interest in trying anything else.

Hoping it will keep me content. Didn't like the real tiny platforms and the Mission was a bit too big IMO.

Local rope supplier just got Canyon Elite back in stock, so I bought a bunch of rope!

40' CY for rapelling, plus an extra 15' piece to put up in my garage for practice.
Bunch of dynaglide
1/8 & 1/4 amsteel
some 6mm prusic cord

Slowly accumulating what I need to go saddle hunting next year....and practice till then! Woohoo!

My ropes have been shipped so should have them early next week. Just in time for some fun in the new year.

Gonna get my fids out and start splicing some amsteel when they ropes arrive, and rig a short SRT practice line in my garage to replace the old dynamic climbing rope I put up in the interim.

The saddle hunting kit is coming together....looking forward to a fun 2022 saddle hunting season.

Cabelas has the Benchmade Hidden Canyon Hunter knife back in stock....may have to take a drive there this aft...been salivating over that knife for some time now. Belated Xmas prezzie to me? :tearsofjoy:

Hello....my name is tarafrost and I'm a KA (knife addict).
It has been 2 days since I last purchased a new knife.
I hope to start step one of my 12-step KA program soon.

:tearsofjoy:

The latest addition to the knife collection, Benchmade Hidden Canyon Hunter. Made of S90VN super steel…can’t wait to see how it works field dressing and skinning big game in 2022.

Also did some "fiddling", and put together an adjustable amsteel bridge for my JX3 yesterday. Have to test this out today on the practice SRT rig I've put up in my garage. Used 1/4" for the bridge with a full bury and 3/8" for the continuous loop .

Early December I found this most wonderful solution to having both a quiet water bottle and easy no hand motion access, plus not having my water freeze when hunting single digits.....it worked so well because it fits my water bottle pouch, and The straw is a one way valve so no spillage throughout the climb!20211210_122648.jpg

I picked up a Zojirushi thermos for the same purpose the other day. I had looked at these some time ago, and what prompted me to get one was the glowing reviews on a thread here on SH that I read a few days back, specifically how long it would keep your coffee/tea hot. It's also a lot lighter in weight than my other stainless thermos I've used for hunting. Already wrapped in camo vet tape.

I got mine from amazon.ca.....price, shipping and the like, me being in Canukia, was a lot better than from EWO.

I bought my wife a heated vest from TideWe. Got 15% off. She started a new job and works outside by a river and gets some frigid winds coming down the river at her. Not fun in Maine in January. If she likes it I may get myself one.
