What did you do today?

I don't freshwater fish very much anymore but did when I was younger. All the ponds i would fish I wouldn't want to eat the fish out of anyway because of pesticide run off. Small ponds in neighborhoods hold big fish. I've never eaten 1. Walking the banks and pond jumping is like mobile hunting...u only taking bare minimum so I never had a cooler as most of the time I was riding my bike to get into the gated communities. If i wanted fish to eat I'd get inshore saltwater species or catfish out of the river or other water that wasn't getting fertilizer runoff year round. I was lucky growing up when my dad worked at the golf course..I could go fish all those ponds on the interior of the course that only employee could get access to. I'm kinda spoiled where I live having thousands of acres of saltwater backwater creeks and river and a friend with an offshore boat. I prefer fishing saltwater. I caught a nice 3-4 pound largemouth during my lunch break at work on thur but didn't have my phone for a pic...dehook and let em swim off to get bigger. Retention pond in an industrial complex has yucky stuff in the water
I wouldn't look down on anybody who wanted to keep a legal fish...that's silly

Made a stool for my wife's grandma so she can reach the control for the dryer safely.

We floated this boat lift over into place using inner tubes at my in-laws lake house.

My almost three year old got lit up with yellow jackets. Poor thing. I was able to get him clear and inside with 6 or so stings and then he got two more inside the house while I was holding him. One was in his hair and got the top of his head and the other got the back side of his ear along with the arm stomach and back from the initial attack. Those two bites inside were about 15 minutes later, couldn’t believe it.

My daughter is deathly afraid of yellow jackets, bees, etc. Just mentioned the word bee and she lets out a shriek. All from a day similar to your kid. I think she had 6 stings that day.

Similar experience with my son. He was with his grandmother and stepped on a Yellow jackets nest when he was 2 yrs old. Best we could tell he got stung 13 times. Scary thing is, me, my uncle, my cousin and my grandmother are all allergic. They took him to the hospital as a precaution but thank God he didn't get that gene.

I made a 3 to 1 block and tackle setup for hanging deer in the garage. After last year I got tired of struggling to get them hoisted up. Being a hardcore DIYer I refused to buy a set when I had all the material to make my own laying around in my garage. I made the pulleys from black locust using a circle jig I made out of mdf, a 10/32 screw, a bandsaw and a router. 3/8” hardware and a little head scratching. Fun and useful project.

Yesterday was a hunt prep day. Cleared out some bolt holes, drilled three new trees. See ya to the ROS, hello LWCG platform. Crooked trees don't matter anymore.
Went home and started on some heavy arrow combos for the wheel bow.

Put OEM springs back in this baby. Prior owner had lowered it 100mm.

Then I found this... looks like new shoes are in order. What is the equivalent of Crocs for a motorcycle?

Damn, hope he's okay. I was about ten and messing around in the woods when I noticed my shoulder was buzzing. I somehow got into a yellow jacket nest and had several fly inside my shirt before they got angry...and they got angry.

Mom mixed a paste of water and meat tenderizer and it immediately took or the pain away.

Only damn bug I know that actually chases you like in the cartoons! Thanks for the concern, he's actually fine just has a very bad taste for yellow jackets....He was just commenting on them on the way to daycare this morning. He pretty much replayed the event, "I just stood there, I need to run and smack them...yellow jackets are mean"
