What does your arrow cost?

I generally try and buy arrows on sale or from a builder like black orvis or there’s a guy on AT that builds arrows, so I usually get a dozen for around a bill. Then three magnus BHs for around $25-30.
I had just awful luck with the dozen I got from black ovis last year, that’s a big part of what started me down the path of trying to learn to make them myself. I’m glad to hear that isn’t the norm. It was the first (only) time I’d ordered from them and it was so bad I assumed I got hustled so I didn’t even complain on here or anywhere else. Don’t derail the thread but ever had so many things go wrong you assumed it was your fault and so you just don’t complain? That was me there. Sounds like it was an anomaly.

Lol yeah been there done that.

$25ish an arrow this year. I can't resist an arrow sale. Got some Bloodsport .166 shafts for $40 a dozen that came with nocks and inserts. Then got some used Iron Will wide $60 for 3. Plus misc glue/wraps/feathers.

But l have way more arrows then l need...

Hunting arrows-
Carbon Express Maxima Red Select 350,
AAE Max Hunter Vane,
Firenock Inserts,
G-Nock Uni-Bushings,
G Nocks,
Magnus Stinger 2 Bladed Broadheads.

Around $32 per shaft.

For the hickory creek I’m in at 7.00 arrow plus broadhead. For compound, 20.00 plus broadhead.

I mostly use exodus now so add 15.00 per. Most of my heads have been through multiple animals though

If I were under a 28” draw I’d never buy another arrow new. Too many good deals on people trying to be the ranch fairy, then Be a different ranch fairy and sell arrows for a fraction of the the cost because no one can use their exact build.

I'm a budget arrow builder lol.

I lucked into some Beman ICS Bowhunter Pro 300 spine on Camofire a couple of years ago and bought 48 @ $4.45/shaft.
Brass 100 grain inserts ~$2/each
Blazer vanes off Amazon (whatever colors are cheapest) $0.67/arrow for my current hot pink/blaze orange combo
Amazon Deepower Broadheads $1.67/each
Amazon lighted nocks $2.31/each

So $11.10 per arrow

Still enough that I go digging every time I fling one off into neverland.

Little less than $30/per if I bought new. Gold Tip XT arrows with Exodus heads. Been using the same arrows and heads for several years though. Stumbled on 26 Gold Tip Hunters and Velocity XT's for $50 earlier this year, so....
I start thinking I need to build a new set of arrows or I wanna try some different broadheads until I see threads like these.

Yeah...now I regret adding all this up. Looks like I'm at $62 / arrow with broadhead. They are Sirius Archery SuperNovas with Grizzly Stik Maasai Broadheads. I just went to higher FOC arrows a couple of years ago. Before that I was spending around $30 / arrow shooting stock Easton Axis arrows with Rage Broadheads

$33.36 per hunting arrow, not factoring in my labor or glue for fletching and inserts or fletching jig or arrow spinner/square or arrow saw....

$10.92 for 200 spine Nucleus shafts from Flying arrow archery, includes nocks and 100 gr inserts(bought on sale)
$18 per used broadhead 250 grain cutthroat single bevels
$0.77 for reflective wraps from Midway
$2.84 for off brand lighted nocks from Amazon
$0.84 for four Q2i fusion vanes

overall very pleased with that cost breakdown

How’s the performance of those Amazon lighter knocks? I looked at those before but was extremely skeptical.

Mine have been very solid, shot them all of last season and the ones I shot this year have continued to work. I don't recall the actual brand I have as I got them for a Christmas present

Shooting BE Carnivore 32" with zingers. VPA single bevel 200 grain broadhead with nocturnal lighted nocks. 150 grain insert. Puts me close to 700 TAW. And 20% foc. I figured about $50 per arrow. That of course is not figuring the time it takes to build the arrows and tune them along with sharpening the broadheads. I don't even want to know the true cost with all that figured in. :flushed:

After accounting for shipping and taxes it breaks down like this:
Axis 5mm $12.54
Ethics Archery Outserts $5.41
Nockturnals $10.82
Wraps $0.74
Vanes $0.48
Arrow Total $29.99
GrizzlyStik Samurai $39.66
Hunting Arrow Total $69.65
Do they make me better at archery...??? most likely not. But if there is a slight chance that spending more money on arrows will make me a better archer it's worth it! Plus they're fun to build.

Compound arrows:
Easton 6.5mm bowhunter shaft cut to size w/ standard inserts=$8.50-10.00
Blazer vanes x3 @ $0.36/ea.=$1.08 total (glue cost negligible)
G5 Montec 100gr. Broadhead=$12.50-17.50
Nockturnal lighted nock=$8.00-12.00

That puts me at $30.08 on the low end and $40.58 on the high end. My crossbow bolts are about $30 each as well with broadheads.
