What knee pads do you use for an all day sit?

i use a cheap pair from home depot. just got the trophyline ones too. pros n cons to each but for an all day sit the cheap ones. the trophlylines kill my knees after about 5 min. theyre not soft enough. they are quiet and grab the tree though. i might put some memory foam on the inside and see if that helps.

the cheapo ones are awesome on my knees i can sit all day n not feel a thing. but they have hard plastic on the front and are harder to grab the tree and can be loud on the bark n bumping things... my .02

I bet a little cloth camo tape or stealth strips would help on the hard plastic pads. Might wear out after chewing on some bark, but worth a shot. Just a thought.

I got one of them 4 dollar thermarest seats from wally world and it straps around the tree. Its like a boob on my knees. o_O

I use Arc’s and found if I place them over my base layer and under my outer layers, they work much better and are extremely quite going up the tree vs strapping them to the outside of the leg pants. I do all day sits no problem with them.

I use volleyball knee pads from Walmart. I climb smaller trees and rarely put my knees in to the tree.

Same way I use mine. Works great.

Why didn't you put them at face level then??

Cuz he’d never see another deer.

I've been using these that I already had for mountain biking. Hike in with them slid down close to my boots, then pull them up before ascending the tree. They go underneath my pants which has been much more comfortable for me than anything I have used over my pants.

Yeah I thought the same thing. My $5 dollar knee pads are so comfortable and the Trophyline pads destroy my knees. Do you think there is a break in period?

so ive been using the trophyline ones for about 15 hunts now. they did need a break in period, i switched because my $5 ones wore out. I actually strap a 1.5" thick therma seat onto the tree to give my knees a little more cushion and see if the pads keep getting softer. so far... the biggest con to the trophyline pads is the straps coming loose. They will never stay tight and keep my pads where i need them. i will say they are extremely quiet and well built and quick to put on.

I have a pair with a single strap and a codura looking cup/face. I got them for laying tile from Home Depot or Lowes. I dont have any problems with them. They stay where they're supposed to, they're comfortable, they're quiet and I already had them. They may have been $10-$15. No other experience. I wouldn't mind trying others, but there is an end to the money.

They look pretty comfortable. What county from SEPA you from?
Montgomery. This was in the Hatfield Lowes. These were the only clearance pair on the shelf. The price is still $30 on the website so I assume this was an individual store only clearance. Prices vary from Lowes store to Lowes store.

I’m Bucks, I’ll have to check my Lowe’s here. If not I’ll check out the Hatfield one. Thanks

Go to Lowes.com and find the item and then change the store. The price will change if it is local clearance. I have found some 90% off at Montgomeryville that I was surprised that were still full price at Hatfield.
Edit: I just checked. Warrington has 25 available for $15 each.
It sounds like you are close to me. I have only been hunting at Nockamixon. If you want to try SRT climbing, we could meet somewhere.

Thanks for the info, maybe I’ll give it a try one day.

Slow to the thread. I was at work tonight looking at different stuff. I think I'm gonna try the bow hunters hand muff. Rolls up small. The length seems just right. If I have cold hands, he'll with me knees. Idk.

I use my back pack up against the tree or my JX3 where i dont need knee pads.
