I sewed nylon strap loops onto the ends of a Kuiu glassing pad and use a nite ize camjam on 1/8 amsteel to tighten to the tree. Works great, packs tight on my platform, no straps on the back of my legs to annoy me.
Those are sweeeeet! I was wanting a new pair of pants(some type of rip stop)and I haven’t pulled the trigger, but I put them in my cart! Thanks!I wear these and they are excellent. All your ropes and release and phones and what it all go in a pocket. My ropes fit in the cargo pockets. And if they get trashed I get a new pair next season.

i've been using the trophyline ones for awhile, liked them a lot at first but they're somewhat annoying now. i feel like they are too wide compared to my leg- can be annoying walking in, and the elastic straps on mine have work out enough that i basically can't walk in them without them falling down to my feet. it happens more or less depending on the pants i'm wearing. that said they work OK in the tree. I've been wantingto replace them with the version latitude sells (either through the generic manufacturer or latitude directly) but can't completely jsutify the purchase yet. some day i'll do it on a whim lol.
I use this for all day sits.

I cut one in half and then cut a slit on both ends to run a strap through that I re-purposed from somewhere else. It lays flat in bottom of my backpack and weighs nothing...like it way better than knee pads. Thanks for all the replies. I'm thinking the Therm-O-Seat thing myself. . .maybe folding it in half with a strap sewn in the middle. It would give double the cushion and stay on the strap while it is being strapped around the tree. Something to experiment with.
