Why don't yall 2TC?

I've never tried it, the biggest hurdle for me being having to buy all of the equipment to try it out. Currently run two sticks and a moveable aider that I also use on my platform.

Just curiously, what do you imagine would be the best, budget friendly way to give 2TC a try?
How do you use the aider with your platform?

What size sling on what rope?

I have used several, but this one (16mm x 48”) most often. 36” would be better, but you can shorten by tying a knot in the middle. It works on several ropes (C-IV, 10 mm HTP, Platinum 10.5mm). You have to play around with how many wraps to do. I think I’m usually at about 4 wraps.
I still think it’s more versatile to use a prusik and attach your sling with a square knot. Prusiks are handy to have.

Is 2tc louder than placing sticks or one sticking?
Id say put your tether on a tree and weight it and then put a stick on a tree and stand on it. Compare the two. 2TC you do have a lot of small moves but they’re pretty quiet. With 2TC You can reduce the metal you have janglin down to a single carabiner so I think it can be a good bit quieter than sticks in that regard too. Just connecting it to the tree the stick and stick noise is the only difference I see. The rope on bark sounds more natural to me.

Ok I think I’m going to order the 2tc kit from CGM. Does anyone have any input on weather to get the Amsteel or web

My recommendation is to climb with what you have on hand. You do not need to buy anything. Cgm is good people though if you’re itching to buy something I’d go webbing.

This is my crew right here....bunch of dope mother.... you know the rest
I have had about all of you I can take. I was hanging a preset .75 yesterday and I was climbing on sicks. All I could think about, going through my head, was 2TC or DIE!!!
OVER AND OVER AGIAIN.
I Hate You! Just kidding about the hate part. But we are no longer web friends.

I have the amsteel kit from Jerry. It sticks to the bark a bit, but packs down into a nice package. I sit on the ground first and climb trees second so I was interested in the smallest profile.

I decided to climb with my rappel rope and figure 8 yesterday since I made the worst make shift saddle ever and wanted to be able to get down in a hurry if needed. WLR hitches on top, figure 8 below. The rope really was not difficult to manage at all and was a viable way to climb with 2TC. I still prefer two regular tethers to climb and hang from.

Also, I’m getting away from the Blake’s hitch foot loop again. I found a nice compromise with the tether, hitch, and footloop girth hitched directly to the hitch chord. You get the nice 1” webbing foot loop with no metal. Also, the way I climb I’m pulling slack out of each tether every time and you really can’t do that with the Blake’s hitch set up.

What hitch are you using on your foot tether that the loop attaches too?
