    Sewn eye verses a knot

What are the advantages/disadvantages to each method. I'm going to be buying some rope, and trying to pick the best method. Help. Thanks in advance.

Why do we need the triangle link?

To start with, I own one. But when I use it, the rope is only contacting two of the corners. It's hard to see how this device is protecting against any side loading. Also every picture I see of one in use looks the same. Am I missing something? Has the Chinese flu rotted my brain? Do I...

    Rapelling with oplux

I'm looking to jump on the oplux bandwagon, but have a few questions. Has anyone tried rappelling with oplux and a madrock safeguard? I believe the safeguard is rated down to 8.1mm. Does the .1 make a difference? If not, is it possible to rappel using a 6mm friction knot such as a blakes...

    Atwood rope

Anyone here tried Atwood rope for a tether? I was in a local hardware store and saw some that looked pretty good, for a reasonable price. 1/2 inch 19$/50' 2200 lbs/220lb working load Very light. IT FLOATS!

Mostly we would be falling/slipping about a foot. Are we limiting ourselves in rope selection? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

Modifying a lone wolf sit and climb

I am considering modifying my sit and climb seat to make it smaller and lighter. I'm thinking of removing the last section of skeleton. This would make the climber/platform a little lighter, but would also allow it to pack better. I wear a size 9 boot, so don't think that would be an issue...
