Latitude Rebel Platform Initial Thoughts

ugh....don't wanna spend money.....but lighter AND stronger (machined) than my go to predator.........

yeah, I mean, this about sums it up then.

I'd have it coated though. Maybe selling your Predator can pay for that.

U guys maybe should try to contact ur local powder coater....they have coatings with texture. Anybody close to Jacksonville, I can point u in the right direction

i haven't shot aluminum with it for a while, but do you think the gritty rattle can bed liner (duplicolor is good) would stick and work similarly?

stuff is so gooey that i've had it stick to bare aluminum bow risers

thanks, i somehow missed this picture

if the grating was closer together, i'd consider just putting zip ties at each juncture where they won't slip and put the latch out to catch boot....easy to replace when they break

I have no clue.....I've never used that kinda stuff before. I did work at a place that installed vortex bedliner but the application process is much more involved with the industrial machine. Scuff and get clean.

If you want traction you could cut it in with a dremel or the corner of a file. That is some beautiful welding :grimacing: . Speaking of welding, if you own one you could also put 'tacks' on it to create traction. How about skateboard grip tape?

i was thinking that dots of whatever that liquid metal stuff is (JB weld?). Would something like that just pop off like those old candy dots on paper?

But not as tasty

As long as it is clean jb weld should stick have used it for aluminum repairs before. It held just fine. Might scuff it with some sand paper first to make sure. Wonder if a guy could mix some clean sand with it then apply might have to do a test strip on some aluminum from the shop.

lol...i don't know...that pure sugar with paper stuck to the back you can't get all the way off was right up there with peeps and candy corn in my book

yeah, if it works ok, this might be a good solution for folks that don't weld and don't want to cut into the platform

even if a few pop off a season, it would be cheap to reapply

Plus jb is sandable so it can be shaped also. The only downside is when it drys the surface is like glass so it has to be shaped for traction or sanded in after cure or it will be slick.

i bet it would hold pretty good, from what you are saying

because your boot is going to grab multiple jb weld sharp cones and also have some purchase on the platform as well....it isn't like i'm gonna be able to put my full weight on a single piece of jb weld

First one we've seen and already everyone is a debbie downer, im thinking get it in a tree when its wet and see if there is a problem. Hard to tell anything sitting on a kitchen counter.

Well got the x-wing today. Pretty impressed with this little platform. Rock solid on the tree cams pretty aggressive. Plenty of room to stand on facing the tree or sideways. I like having my feet closer to the tree. Bare platform weighed 2lb 10oz on my scale so 2oz heavier then the cad calc. Just gonna give it a paint job and run with it can't see much I would like to change. Pretty much settles that, I'm going to be out $300 soon

Cheaper than that new bow I've been eyeballing lol

Also, I have been planning on buying a platform, it's just that WEI really doesn't seem to want to sell me a battle axe...
