Live from the tree!

Wisconsin can be a crap shoot. I hunt northern Wisconsin and depending on the year, and the number of people on public land, it can be hard. I would love to do some hunting in southern Wisconsin, but I don't live close enough to warrant a lease and the non resident tag. I just wouldn't be able to spend enough time there.

I hunted southern Wisconsin on private land. It was magical. The deer in my profile is just a tad over 160" as a typical 12. The buck I saw on day 1 of my time in WI made him look like a junior higher.

I'm from IL and all of my friends/family hunted IL and WI. It was not uncommon to see a few people tag booners every year. Had no idea how good I had it there (before I started Hunting of course) until I started hunting PA where anything over 100" is a trophy. Sure there are pope and young and a booner from time to time but not like in IL and WI.

In Western Pa there are some nice bucks with Ohio genes. Folks see that and think that others in PA just need to wait and they will kill monsters. I saw the same 4 point buck for four or five years. He got a lot bigger in the body, gained some mass and got wider. But he was a four point all those years.

Where you hunt, if the rack is big enough to hold 8 points it is a shooter to everyone. Good season for you.

Nice buck red! Can't wait to read the details. I told my buddy, we have to go to our #1 spot tomorrow b/c a guy who earlier said he didn't get in the stand until 8:30 killed a buck by early afternoon in Delaware, which is very similar Latitude.
