Too many. I buy them instead of saddles. Far cheaper. How many sewing machines do you have guy?
I've read thru so I know you have some decent stitches in but that stuff there I would take a stitch ripper and clean that stuff out and re-do it. Not that it's making it weak but I like to keep an eye on stitches for a little while and with those in it, it makes it hard to tell what's holding and what's not. Just my own freakism coming outI over stitched the strap ends with V-92 Kevlar to strengthen them and had trouble with the top tension being maxed out so I reduced the bottom tension and got it almost OK. I was using a different machine than when I started sewing this with the V-92 polyester. I calculated if the Kevlar and polyester stitches were tight it should break around 12,000 lbs so this should be a bit less, if it came to that. I don't see how it possibly could with me weighing less than 200 lbs. I may get out my other machine and add a few Kevlar lines to see if that has enough top tension adjustment.

I have basically the same machine!! What size needle do you use? Nice job on the saddle!! Did your machine come with a belt or did you have to get one? I need a belt for mine!I broke out my Singer 15-91, put a size 20 needle in, felt the bobbin tension to be about right, cranked the upper tension to max and sewed two more 4 inch rows at 6 SPI up and back with Kevlar V-92. The stitches were good front and back. The Sailrite formula says I just added another 4,320 lbs of strength plus backtacks. I might try to lift one end of my car with the saddle for fun.
Bobbin side, left 2 rows of stitches
Needle side, right 2 rows of stitches
When I bought the 15-91 the lamp shade was missing and a replacement cost more than I paid for the whole machine. Aluminum foil functions the same.
Size 20 needle. I bought 30 of the Organ brand for $10 on ebay and V-92 polyester and V-92 Kevlar thread from the Thread Exchange. Sew-classic is the store I ordered some belts from. I think this size will fit although not sure.I have basically the same machine!! What size needle do you use? Nice job on the saddle!! Did your machine come with a belt or did you have to get one? I thought about naming it but I seem to have an aversion to doing so. If it can't answer back or come when called, what's the point? If it does answer back, you know you are in trouble. I just sat in it hanging from a pull up bar inside. It is very comfortable with the wide seat. How’d she sit? Or he? idk what y’all like these days.
Thank You.The DIY prowess never ceases to amaze me on this site. Nice job!
