The only other negative is the protruding portion that dogs into your back if using backpack straps.

Agreed. Thats my only slight negative. I LOVE this thing!!
If you have time tomorrow or anytime could you post a picture how you ran your straps on it, assuming you did, I’m horrible with stuff like that, thanks!

I think you meant that for the previous poster. Right now I've just been using the factory buckle. Was thinking of going with daisy webbing from DanO like I have on my sticks.
I meant the backpack straps, I wasn’t sure if any of you guys put them on yet or even planned on using them, thanks!

So I’m almost 240 in hunting boots and I just jumped and beat on this thing and for me it was solid, it does flex when I am way out on the edge but nothing I didn’t expect and it was better than I expected, I couldn’t make this thing kick out, I put one foot on the ground and pushed and shoved it wasn’t going anywhere for me it bites hard and this was on a rock hard old power pole in my wood shed, it’s big, but big in the right places, I can turn around like I am in a stand, I have windwalker stands that weigh almost the same but for me I guess the advantage of this is it’s big in the right places, my small lightweight stands put me further away from the tree when leaning than I like to be and then there is the issue of the cables, stands do have a seat but it’s almost useless for long sits on any little stand I have ever owned, I think this thing definitely has it’s place, long sits or somebody that’s just not quite comfortable with tiny things, in my opinion it’s a lot of bang for the buck and well made. Time will tell but from my little bit of testing I like it, about the only thing that I can see being a problem so far is on the bottom where the bolt for the post hinges, if a person straps this on there back that metal knob where the bolt is will be right in the center of your back, I don’t plan on carrying it this way so could care less but that mite be an issue for some, time will tell.

In your testing did was there any noise when shifting around on it? Noise was the reason I ended up selling my Ambush.

Finally received mine. Took about a week but that was more USPS fault. I used the LWCG straps and think I got it routed pretty well. I found if you start the straps at the leveling bolt it keeps it on your back as little as possible.

Heres some photos.

The platform seems great except for two parts.

-The offset they use is kick-out-city on smaller trees. Under 10" trees and side pressure-- not downward pressure on the side-- but sideways pressure makes the platform shift to the off-middle teeth on the offset and moves the platform completely.

-Teeth on the bottom of this platform are also pretty dull.

I've swapped my predator platform offset for the batwing that came with the platform and it's much more solid and cannot kick out now. I also filed the teeth so they bite into the tree rather than crush bark like they were previously.

I think I'm going to purchase the XOP 6 point bracket and these will be golden.

Toe hook and cam the platform down. It ain’t shifting anywhere. As a matter of fact it will be a bitch to get off the tree. I put it on a 6” diameter tree. Solid!

Those XOP brackets have a habit of snapping in half. I don’t suggest that...

When I toe hook and push on the foot post it does not move. This issue isn't biting, the issue is with the offset you're only getting 2 points of contact, with side pressure it shifts the post onto the 3rd point, whereas an offset with a more consistent surface area will stay in contact with the tree.

Set your platform and put pressure in the direction the arrow with the checkmark is, feet on the side lip of the platform. Don't be gentle, give it a good up and down shove like you want it to kick out.

I will try it again but I couldn’t get it to kick out.

All 6 points of the XOP offset bracket are straight across inline flat across. How do you expect to get more than 2 points of contact on a round tree?

The issue is not whether the points of contact are straight are not. The issue with the batwings is the point increments are too large. You're going to kilter on 2 points regardless of tree size.

Also, with the 6 point bracket, it will bite into the tree, Minimum you're going to have 4 points of contact unless you're on a 4-inch tree.

I've never heard of an instance of the 6 point bracket breaking. Only the tree step standoffs. Completely different design though.

It’s the same offset bracket lone wolf has been using for many years. It’s a non issue. It’s the same thing they used on the assassin.
