Trophyline mission

My scales say 5 lbs 8 oz no strap and 5 lbs 14 oz with the strap, there usually dead nuts, but you never know
What scale are you using? I used an LCA 2.0 bow scale. It was dead nuts accurate when I built my sticks from EWO.

I haven’t tried it yet but the thing looks like a beast, I will later, I like it so far lol

My scales are not digital but there old baby scales from a drs office, there usually real close and precise but you never know, I weigh custom guns on them all the time

So I’m almost 240 in hunting boots and I just jumped and beat on this thing and for me it was solid, it does flex when I am way out on the edge but nothing I didn’t expect and it was better than I expected, I couldn’t make this thing kick out, I put one foot on the ground and pushed and shoved it wasn’t going anywhere for me it bites hard and this was on a rock hard old power pole in my wood shed, it’s big, but big in the right places, I can turn around like I am in a stand, I have windwalker stands that weigh almost the same but for me I guess the advantage of this is it’s big in the right places, my small lightweight stands put me further away from the tree when leaning than I like to be and then there is the issue of the cables, stands do have a seat but it’s almost useless for long sits on any little stand I have ever owned, I think this thing definitely has it’s place, long sits or somebody that’s just not quite comfortable with tiny things, in my opinion it’s a lot of bang for the buck and well made. Time will tell but from my little bit of testing I like it, about the only thing that I can see being a problem so far is on the bottom where the bolt for the post hinges, if a person straps this on there back that metal knob where the bolt is will be right in the center of your back, I don’t plan on carrying it this way so could care less but that mite be an issue for some, time will tell.

Anyone looking to trade theirs already? I might consider a trade for my Ridge Runner with a little extra.

Probably not the only one, I think we’ve become accustomed to the final product being a bit heavier than we first thought. As for deflection, all these thing flex a bit. Still looking forward to comparing it to my assassin. The one that concerned me the most was my LWCG platform. I’m 275 & it was unnerving. I know it would take a lot for these things to fail, but it’s all about confidence in your gear at the price that your willing to pay for it.
I don't think you'll have to worry about the flex on the Mission. UPS dropped mine off a couple hours ago and I just got back in from messing around on it while my son was napping. I'm 6'5", 310-315#, wear a size 15 shoe and the only time I was getting Flex in the Mission was when I first put it on the tree and I didn't have it on the tree good and when I was putting my full weight on the sides when I was trying to turn around for a weak side shot.

For me this thing is really comfortable. I only have a Ridge Runner and Wild Edge steps to compare it to, but the different angles that the front edge has create multiple foot positions for me.

As far as the Mission weight goes; if I'm gonna be worried about a couple ounces I'll drop the weight from my gut lol. This is still lighter than my hang on/climbing stands and I switched to XOP mini sticks with a moveable aider from the full length XOP sticks (gonna mess around with the XOP minis and the Mission tomorrow).

I am curious to see what you think of it, you have tried them all and never sugar coat anything, please post your thoughts, thanks!

Well I have been messing around with it since on came in today. I am pleasantly surprised. I tried it on a skinny about 6” in diameter tree, about a basketball size tree and fat tree that maxed out the strap and maxed out the angle adjustment. Solid on every single tree.

I am 6’-4” and the damn corona lockdown lockdown has me back up to 260lbs... ... for reference.

the flex in my opinion is minimal. Way less than the Ambush. On par with the assassin. Maybe a little bit more flex but not much. It’s very solid.

Initial feedback:

pros
Perfect size platform IMO. I can standup and turn around shoot with ease.
Solid on every tree I tried it on. Very happy about this. It felt bolted to every tree.
takes side pressure well
Feels lighter than it reads on the scale to me
Plenty of grip
Cam easy and very well thanks to the foot platform thing on the post.

cons
Weighs more that advertised
There is some platform behind the pivot point. Stepping on that will fold the platform up. Takes a bit of effort to but non the less it’s possible.
Bits the tree maybe a little to well. I had trouble getting it off the tree a couple of times. Like the cam strap would bind and you couldn’t just push the tab in to release and it was bear to pull up to get the tension off the strap.

Overall I am very happy with it. Definitely will get some use this season.

I don’t know why the pics are all turned...

I gotta tell ya I am really liking this thing, just spent some more time on it and I think it’s a bargain for what you get and compared to the alternative, I could see this being the perfect long day platform for comfort with freedom to move around on.

I wish they integrated some hooks into the platform that would let you pack stick with the cambuckle. I hate messing with gear ties and bungees

Just got my Mission today. Just spent an hour playing around with it. I think it’s a winner!

Pros:

Easy to hang and bites into the tree very well. I tightened strap and cammed it down without much effort. I thought I would step on the foot step to seat it some more and it didn’t even move. Stepped on and it was rock solid and very little flex (weigh 187 lbs.)

The ridges in the casting provide plenty of grip. I tried multiple tether heights and had great mobility with each setting. Turning around for a weak side shot won’t be a problem. There is plenty of room for your feet. It feels about as big as the cheap ladder stands I grew up on.

Cons:

A little heavier than some other saddle options. I’m not too worried about that. I have been losing weight and I think that is more important than a pound or two on a platform. The only other negative is the protruding portion that dogs into your back if using backpack straps.

Just got mine today at noon and had it in the tree by 1215.

For me, its exactly what ive been looking for in a platform, love it! Ive gone the ultra small route before and just felt i needed a little more room and I wanted less flex in my platform and this does that.

It locks on the tree rock solid even with Amsteel when I tried that and with no noticeable flexing even when standing way out on the edges/corners. Took side pressure really well and the foot rest was really nice. I could easily stand on it and turn around, almost felt treestand like.

I havent weighed it yet but it didnt feel heavy at all in the hand. I plan on using 9 squirrel steps to get up the tree this year anyway so will save plenty of weight over my sticks that way. IMO the extra weight is well worth the extra room and stability this platform offers anyways.

A definite winner in my book.
