What did you do today?

I was rappelling down and my quiver(which was attached to my backpack) got caught up on a branch, i reached behind me to free the quiver and was unable to see that the branch had partially freed one of my arrows. Bled all over myself and took a good 15min to stop. Luckily it wasn't as bad as I was thinking and didn't need any stitches, but funny enough it cut right through my thumbnail.

I did something similar late last year getting setup & had a deer coming in & rushed my bow up the tree & grabbed it by the quiver head & got myself good. Shot the deer but bled all over my stuff. I’m better prepared now. You’ve had a rough couple days.....

Yea I have, between the bear and losing my deer and now my finger. That's alright though, I'll take my bumps and lessons learned and get back at it.

I used my saddle at work again. I had to scrub a shingled roof after pointing up a chimney and tied my rope to my roof ladder and walked back down the roof to scrub it. It worked awesome and i couldn't have done it any other way. Writing the saddle off for sure.

That’s genius!! I wonder if my superintendent will let me buy a saddle for when I climb the towers to hook up the WiFi antennas.

Washed all my clothes, hung it to dry, sprayed it with Permethrin, put Zinger vanes on my arrows, tested the lighted nocks, put yak grips on my buckles on the Helium sticks and worked from home... lol.

I bought another rifle, aggggg
I have an addiction
Good for you! Me too. Sighted this one I picked up a couple of weeks ago tonight. My buddy is a gunsmith and makes all sorts of stuff. He conned me into picking up this German Mauzer 98 action he put together. Its chambered in .45 ACP. That's at 50 yards. I think it will be a neat little stalking carbine for deer. It feeds from a 1911 magazine. GermanMauzer98.45acpCarbine.jpg

This is neat. The head size on a 45ACP, 30-06, 7X57 are basically the same size so no bolt mod is necessary. Controlled feeding with the 45ACP as well because of the Mauser action.

I was thinking these could be loaded hotter but bad idea in case some one puts one in a pistol. Maybe the chamber could be a little longer and still fire 45ACP but custom slightly longer hotter loaded cases would not fire in a pistol. Just thinking out loud. They could be made from rifle cases.

There is virtually no head space in the chamber on this particular build which attributes to its excellent accuracy for this round. I agree with you the hotter loads would be more accurate in the form of +p ammunition. I couldn't find any so I got a deal on these golden sabre hollow points which seem to shoot decent.

I planted 10 trees today in the yard and transplanted 4 trees. I’m wiped out. God willing I will practice climbing some trees tomorrow.
