Hungry fat kid problems

Keto has too many rules and weight this and balance that and that kinda nonsense for me. Follow the chart posted above and eat to your little heart’s content and you’ll be fine.

And yes when your body switches over to burning fat instead of sugar you may well have to remind yourself to eat.

does paleo diet do the same thing as keto, as in your Body uses fat for fuel?

If you don't give your body carbs, it has no choice but to use fat or protein for energy. Your body has an energy pathway specifically to use fat as distinct from carbs.

I didn’t know paleo was as no carbs. So that means no beer... ouch.

Everything has some carbs. Just cut down on carbs and you will feel a difference. Have beer and cheese and salami, not chips and bread and pasta and beer. You won't feel drunk as quickly either.

No, they do not do the same thing. They are both low carbohydrate diet, however with the keto diet one stays in ketosis. To do so, one needs to consume less than 50 g of carbohydrates per day. And the Paleo diet you can eat more carbohydrates, however, the focus is on carbohydrates with a low glycemic index. In the keto diet when you stay below 50 g of carbohydrates per day, you enter into ketosis after A period of about 3 to 5 days. For your body to create energy it burns fats primarily, until there are no more fats to be burn, or until there is an extremely high demand and then your body burns phosphorus. Protein is the last thing that’s burned. In ketosis the way your body creates energy is there a process called gluconeogenesis. If it were not for the process called gluconeogenesis, one would enter into keto acidosis. Diabetics can enter into a state of ketoacidosis when they do not take their insulin. Interestingly enough, the keto diet was created to help control seizures. That should give you some insight into how sugar can have a damaging effects on the brain. I say sugar because simply that’s what a carbohydrate gets broken down into for energy. Glucose and sugar, for the most part, are the same thing.

Thank you for that education. You said for a period of 3-5 days. Do you cycle on and off a diet?

Something very simple I thought Americans get wrong over the last few decades is the idea that a low fat diet is a good diet. That could not be more FALSE. Every cell in your body has a lipid membrane. Lipids are fats. If you do not consume a diet rich and healthy fats, you cannot possibly have healthy cells in your body. Over the last few decades we’ve seen Americans eating more carbohydrates and less fats, and Americans are sicker fatter than unhealthier.

There is an excellent documentary on Netflix called the magic pill. If you’re curious about these diets, I suggest you watch that, to gain some insight into how your body reacts to different things did you eat

For me? Yes. For most? Yes. But, as was so well explained above you can conceivably go above 50g of carbs a day, but I have to say that I don’t see it being sustainable. Just follow the flow chart and you will be fine.

With the foods I like to eat I rarely get into double digit carbs on a regular day. Especially in the winter when fresh vegetables aren’t available.

As for beer, drink a Miller Lite, lol.

50 g is kind of the magic number for keto, assuming one has a normal functioning pancreas. Within the pancreas we have what is called the Islets of Langerhans. Hear you have alpha cells beta cells and gamma cells. Your alpha cells say use glucose your beta cells say release insulin, and your gamma cells provide a negative feedback loop to cut off either glucose or insulin. With a normal functioning pancreas and 50 g of carbohydrates per day, The body is able to fine tune beta cell and gamma cell function, therefore allowing the body to enter ketosis.

I always thought the paleo diet was to eat anything you could get your hands on. As quickly as possible. While keeping a sharp ear out and your head on a swivel, lest the sabertooth cat make a meal out of you.

Ain’t no way your ass was a Marine. You can’t learn stuff like that taking notes with a crayon

Who said it wasn’t? No one is arguing that fact. Especially here in SC where you have to eat even faster since we have an abundance of black saber tooth tiger cats and you can’t see them coming.

This is going to sound crazy but stay with me here... butter coffee. I have had some friends dieting that have said that coffee with some butter in it helps to stop feelings of hunger throughout the day and they swear by it. I've never tried it so I recommend this with caution, but my buddy swears by it and says he feels less hungry throughout the day when he does it. I figure if that's the case, it should allow you to bring less food in with you when you go out.

In my experience that would be a surefire way to activate the poopchute.
