He's already sold out of those grabbers. Can you imagine climbing 25 feet up and then not being able to hook your bow?? I can't...

I always throw my pull rope over branches then cut... but that's pretty cool.

I have been doing it for years not that difficult. I pull my stand up the my backpack then my bow, it's easy

That KYSS pack is $390 with all the features :grimacing:

Must be a hidden compartment that will _____ your _____ during an all day sit.

for that money, it would have to have an internal frame (it seems it does with aluminum stays) and be adjustable for torso length OR you can custom order the torso length

once i tried a pack where the distance between waist belt and shoulder straps is adjustable (most mystery ranch packs), that's all i want for long walks with anything remotely heavy (anything 20 lbs or more).....the ability to precisely adjust where the pack weight hits your body is priceless

i'd rather have it adjustable than custom made to length because i might change my mind regarding what feels best and getting your pack fit to you is somewhat trial and error, for instance i run my torso longer than most people and more than is usually suggested

For out west, a quality pack is priceless. But for deer hunting I will never pay over 100$ for a pack. My badlands pack I got 50% off for 60 bucks does absolutely every thing I need it to. I have no idea what people are lugging around that it needs all that extra stuff designed for western hunting.

if you are going up and down hills for 3 miles, then 20 lbs awkwardly perched on top of your shoulders will start to hurt you....much better to have it in the right spot

Agreed. On MN public land I'm never double-digit miles from my truck. I've been entirely satisfied with simple rucksacks, medium ALICE packs, and Walmart hunting packs. I do like an internal frame and waist belt - seems to flop around less that way - and a drawstring closure with top flap to avoid zipper noise. Granted this will be my first year carrying a platform, but that doesn't seem like a problem that requires me to spend a used car payment to solve.

People with their packs is insane. They will take an 8lb frame pack to carry 6lbs of sticks. Been there done that….lol

Take less crap with you. If it doesn’t fit in your pockets. Leave it home. Last year I went packless for most of the year. It was great.

Same. All my ropes went into my cargo pockets. Wore the harness in. Grunt tube and rangefinder in pockets. Jacket and midlayer strapped to the beast stand. Bow in left hand. Go hunting. I guarantee I'm in the top 5% of people who travel the farthest to their stand sites, and I did it no problem. I sometimes wonder if people are going camping or hunting

i agree that you should take pack weight into account

a lot of the hiking packs are lighter than packs sold for hunting....the mystery ranch scree is light and works great as a hunting pack for me....just had to cut the metal zipper tabs off and replace with cord

i use a 30 liter pack because my climbing method (12 steps) goes inside the pack and i also carry my midlayers in the pack inside a compression sack

i deer hunt by myself in places where i can get lost or injured and end up dying (high elevation mountains with no cell service inside a vast area of public land where you never see another hunter in the field).....so i have to carry more than some folks in the interest of life and limb (satellite rescue beacon, basic survival, etc)

sometimes folks make pronouncements without realizing the range of different hunting experiences that are out there

Different people have different priorities. I personally don't know why anybody would drag a deer out of the woods instead of taking a small frame pack like my MR pop up with them each hunt. Assuming it's legal in your State. It's not even so much the drag as just being able to leave the mess in the woods and having the deer ready to hang in the fridge when I get home.
