Team Johnny 5 is alive!

man id love to try snow tracking. ive never had snow during the season here in TN. We will usually get a decent snow in February after season is over and I always use it to learn more about how deer are using an area. I have tags left and am always holding out for a nice one. But im really depending on yall to stay in the lead!

Not saying I would have what it takes to get out there but I have done it before with good results. When it gets that cold for an extended period of time deer have to get up and eat to survive. In our area when it's windy and cold they will stay in the thick stuff and eat on bushes and small trees or on a food source if they can find a corner or edge that's protected.

Talk about manic. Similar story here. The good tracking snow is gonna wash out with 50 degree temps and heavy rain, followed by a quick plummet back to single digit temps. Sounds like saddle / stand hunting will be my only options for the last 1.5 weeks of the season. Fortunately the snow has showed where the big bucks are feeding right now. However, with food sources being so slim, im worried a lot of deer are gonna starve this winter.

I tried getting out today, but our last ice storm and subsequent snow storm, made the road almost impassable. I almost got stuck multiple times. Negative temperature with the wind added in and a blizzard warning for the next 5 days will have me waiting for next week when it's supposed to warm up to 32. Archery only until the doe only holiday hunt. 45 more days left to the season.

I see from your profile pic that you’re full of Carp. ;)

Are you bow hunting for Those? That’s something I’ve always wanted to do
I live to shoot fish .Don't see how anyone that loves a bow and arrow cannot enjoy hundreds of shots at live targets. I go about 4 days a week when it's good. The most I've shot in one day was 66. Where are you located? I could get you addicted too.

I’m in New England. I’m an avid fisherman and have always wanted to incorporate the bow. Do you use a recurve, compound or both? Do you eat all those fish?! 66 in a day is a lot of Fish!

I use a recurve. I use Muzzy spinner reels. We can only shoot rough fish here. I would not want to eat them. Can shoot frogs w/the bow. They are good eating. Some states allow other fish types that could be eaten. It's the most fun you can have w/a bow in your hand. The fish are given to a bird sanctuary to freeze and feed to eagles, ospreys, crows. The birds know when I'm carrying fish in. Some I have given to an Amish farmer for fertilizer.

That’s awesome!

I grew up bowfishing from the bank never had the money for a boat. I really enjoyed it a lot but most of our lakes and rivers are really cloudy. There are a few that are great though. I got to go all night with my brother inlaw by Lake Charles Louisiana last year and it was a blast!

Team 8 is trying to put the sneak on us. If I’m looking right their latest submission puts them within one point. I’ve been running a fever and coughing for a couple days now. If I can shake it in the next couple days I’ll try to put another five points on the board.

The holiday hunt starts this weekend in WI. Look for another 5points coming in.
