How did you get the deeper standoffs?
I requested them when I ordered the sticks. I'm 235lbs and the sticks did great for me this year. There is a slight bit of play on the step as noted by TN, but I really like the sticks.
How did you get the deeper standoffs?
That's odd. I thought the original standoffs were 3.5"
Mine are only 2 7/16. Thanks for the info!
You really think even consider putting a huntjng product out that can’t handle hunting season temperatures ?
I mean I get the concern. But is it one that’s concerning enough to be voiced?
Haha I’m just picturing them sitting around the conference table a year later scratching their chins…”dang boys, you know I didn’t even consider whether these devices thousands of people are using to climb 20’ in the air during huntjng season would be able to withstand 20 degree weather without being compromised. That one really snuck up on us!”
I've got more all day sits in my LW hand climber than I can count. 4-5 hrs sits, same deal. I lived out of that thing for years and years all archery season. A thick hunt comfort pad makes quite a difference over the flat LW pad and even the original foam pad they had (which eventually started ripping and falling apart due to over use)So they are going to shrink the seat to a smaller size and make it more uncomfortable…..has anyone sat on the original LW hand climber for a full day or even a 4-5hr sit? It’s not comfortable at all at least for me and most people I know. It would be nice if there was an option for the bigger seat.
My understanding was that the top shown in the video is the saddle climbing platform and will be a separate product. They were only using it as an impromptu seat while developing the bottom stand and that the actual climber seat will be smaller. Go to 2:40ish in the video.Unfortunately he stated it's a prototype and the final product will have a smaller seat. But, maybe there is hope for a climbing platform in the works?
"Ha, ha"... Yeah, I do. Wouldn't have mentioned it if i didn't. When my 240lbs. is 22' up on 20 deg or colder day climbing down on a carbon stick at dark i want to know that it has been stress/weight tested at those temps.. I want to know a step isnt going to fracture or break and can take some shock loading when one happens to slip then catch to support the weight when you set a stick as they do.
Composites make great structural components but cold temps with this type of usage a different ball game. I don't like the amount of flex the post has in the show photos let alone 20' up.
You do you. I'll ask the question and know before I choose to buy or climb with them or not.
Doesn't look aider friendly.Well, thought i was sold on the latitude sticks but it looks like the standoff is part of the step? Giving you nothing to grab…

I personally think it’s called a crossover because it has a way to mount the custom gear sticks onto the climber. If you get to an area and you don’t need the sticks you use it as a climber. If you get to an area that has low hanging branches, you hang the sticks, and then hang this light weight climbing stand and use it as a lock on. That’s just my opinion though.
