Eliminate wobble in Double Steps on Lonewolf stick?

The lone wolf sticks are mentioned specifically on the EWO site for comparability. There’s even a special bolt provided. I already finished up modding my LW’s so I’m not yet wanting to buy new tubes, buy new brackets, etc just yet. what I might do is put two of those little hex bolts right...

Eliminate wobble in Double Steps on Lonewolf stick?

Bringing this back as I just got some steps and modded some old LW sticks. I noticed a bit of “spinning” due to the rounded edges of the LW tube. Other than occasional inspecting and tightening, what are everyone’s ways to fix the issue (which is a LW issue)? im toying with the idea of...

    Badlands Apparel? Good or Bad?

I did the stare down thing with a group of 5 bucks…lead by this 10 pointer….the day after buck season ended. Wearing my pyre coat and bibs.

What will you change/improve for next year?

I’m planning on getting a proper platform for next season. I’m still rocking the 1st gen wild edge perch. It works fine but it’s quite a PITA. Can be very noisy too.

    Wild edge still around?

Anyone order from WEI recently? I ordered some items two weeks ago and haven’t heard anything after 3 different correspondence attempts (2 emails and a FB message).

New saddle from Wild Edge for 2021

Because people keep asking silly questions and making uneducated statements. I use WE steps and had no idea that they made saddles. I’m out of the loop!

New saddle from Wild Edge for 2021

    No. Not even close.

New saddle from Wild Edge for 2021

You’re exactly right in that .125 wall thickness bent tubing is cheap. You won’t find me or anyone i know standing up on anything made of that type of material. Thankfully Not all metals are created equal. Your seamstress wife is also exactly right in the materials cost being quite low...

New saddle from Wild Edge for 2021

FYI Beast stands are made in America. Things have gotten expensive for a lot of fairly complicated reasons. One simple reason is the push to have everything be American made and bought from small companies direct. A less simple reason is that cost of aluminum SKYROCKETED over the summer...

What will you change/improve for next year?

We all love to tinker with our gear and procedures. What do you plan on changing for next season? I’ll go first: Currently I’m using a 1st gen H2 saddle, wild edge steps, gen 1 wild edge platform, and recently took the time to make a good quality knaider /swaider. For next year I’m definitely...

    Sewing webbing

Just yesterday I used our cheap Brother to sew some loops with tubular webbing. No problems at all. You might have to mess with the bobbin tension to get even stitches though.

    Badlands 40% Off

I bought a pyre set last year. I absolutely love it. The coldest Ive used it so far was 20*. Was wearing a base layer top, boxer briefs bottoms, and the pyre. ....and socks and boots. Very warm.

    Badlands 40% Off

Dammit. I knew this was going to happen. And I knew I was going to have to buy some stuff. So I did.

    First overnight backpack excursion

Silly question from a noob: how do you get back from that? Does someone pick you up at a predetermined location?

    Sharpening Swhackers?

Like others have stated the replacement blades are cheap and easy to install. BUT... If you did want to resharpen here’s how I have done it: Grab the wing with hemostats (needle nose pliers can work too) and strop the blade on a strip with chromium oxide, which has a grit of about 30,000. A few...

    New bow strings

I've used 60X for years. A+ I switched to Brite Strings when I started shooting Primes because of the Ox Yoke system. Also A+ All makers mentioned in this thread are also fantastic. Properly made strings really shouldn't have any stretch or shoot-in time.

What is “stepping through the bridge....?”

....And why does everyone seem to hate it? New guy question.

Thoughts after my first saddle hunt

Went out for my first saddle hunt (H2). Some thoughts: - I’m hooked! This setup is 20lb lighter than my climber setup. - I can see how getting the EXACT tether height can fix most hip pinch issues. - I spent way more time tinkering with my climbing methods than the saddle and prusik/tender. I...

    Bib hunt

I recently got the Badlands Pyre bibs (and jacket!) and absolutely love them. I wear the saddle on the outside. I believe there’s a 50% off code in he coupon section too.
