    Packless setup

I think it’s all personal preference. I used a fanny pack for my steps and sys haulers for everything else. Worked well. Then I put everything in a small back pack and it was much more comfortable walking in to the land I was hunting. If I had presets and was down to very minimal equipment...

Millennium lock on to a saddle platform

It’s not that bad as far as weight or carrying. It folds down nicely and I think will end up at right at 8lbs with buckle and strap. I think it will hook to my back pack and be a good starter platform. I got the stand as a gift along time ago. So, not counting it, I will have about $10 and about...

Millennium lock on to a saddle platform

So I tried it... Here is the unfinished product 8.5lbs total bundle My plan is to take one more rung off platform and use Amsteel rope spliced. The rope actually gives me a little more sense of security and allows me to know where edge is without looking down. Platform seems very solid on...

Millennium lock on to a saddle platform

I have an aluminum millennium stand that is probably 10-13years old. The seat has been eaten on by mice and I just don’t use it anymore. It is one that takes a receiver on the tree. Anyway, thinking about trying to remove the seat and maybe shorten upright and cut down over all size of platform...

    OnX

I’ve not used onx, hope this isn’t a dumb question, but how does it compare to hunt stand. I use hunt stand. It was free with in app purchases. I paid $10 for a year of property lines with owners name.

    Finally got to hunt

Well, today is the last day of deer season here in MS. I finally got to do an actual hunt with my saddle yesterday . I went to some public land and got set up a little after day light. I used 4 steps with swaider and insider to get about 24 feet up. Saw 5 deer, one of which was a good shooter...

    MANTIS...... WHATS UP TETHRDNATION

Tried out the recliner today, seems to be total game changer. I still haven’t officially hunted out of saddle yet. Went out this evening and got about 15ft up and set up as if I was hunting. Got 3 more days to get in a real hunt before season ends....I’m very hopeful...

    Arkansas Newbie

Thanks @Kurt I read about swapping the leg strap position. I like the lower position as well. Hopefully the rain will stop here and I’ll get in some practice tomorrow. Got till the end of January to hunt here, so I’m hoping to at least get a few real hunts in this year.

    Hello from North Alabama

Welcome from central Mississippi. Hunting public land here with a climber on your back can be brutal. While I haven’t actually hunted with my saddle yet, I’m excited to be able to walk in with a small backpack and my bow and maybe a gun every once in awhile... lots of great info on this site and...

    Squirrel steps

I’ve got 4 and the strap. Honestly, I only practiced with them for about 15-20 minutes . I really like them. They roll up tightly and fit in side pouch.
