Since people are starting to get their new model Hawk Helium sticks, I thought I'd create a thread to discuss modifications to them.

I plan on swapping out the straps for something else. I'm considering either some type of rope or versa strap as I find the buckles on the stock straps cumbersome.

After that's sorted out, maybe some one step fixed aiders on each stick depending on test climb height.

Should be getting my stick today. Plan on using it for Cain's one stick method. It will be nice to have a refresher on some of the mods and to see some new things people have come up with.

I cut mine down and did rope the mod with diy versa buttons. Stealth strips. Then I took the 3 straps and made a 2 step elk yinzer stlye moveable aider. I've yet to try it more than 1 stick high so time will tell if it's something I'll stick to using. A person could always use the straps to make 1 step permanently attached aiders too.

I just got my 3 pack. I'm going to replace the straps with woven daisy chain webbing once that becomes available for purchase. I don't like messing with aiders above ground level, so I added a 3 step aider to the bottom stick. That let's me put the 1st stick as high as I can (about 7.5 feet). Without any more aiders it let's me get to 15-16 feet with 3 sticks. I like to stay with only 3 sticks so i was toying around with the idea of one sticking if I need to get above 15-16 feet.....not sure if that will work out.

Video is almost done. I modded the old version to work like the new version. I cut both down and they're great.

These are pics of the old version. I'll upload the 2019s soon.

Are you using the slots for the bottom steps or did you drill new holes? I can't quite tell from the pics

Those are some sexy looking versa straps.... want to sell 5?...:)

I cut mine down and painted today. I haven't decided If i want to do a rope mod or amsteel daisy chain. Might try the woven daisy chain from DanO on them but the versa button is kind of big, not sure how they'd fit.Screenshot_20190628-221246_Gallery.jpg
