2022 Fishing Thread

Won a small stakes local weeknight tournament with these two in a 3-fish bag. First time on this lake. I've been "donating" to this tourney series for the last 3-4 years so it was nice to recoup some small portion of that!

I was about to post the pic of my new person best I caught today and nvm haha those r studs! Congrats!

I suck at taking pics but caught my person best bass today! Off my yak too. Don’t have a scale sadly but he’s longer than my forearm
That's a great fish!
Give me some yakken' details, were you on flat water or in a river, topwater strike or pole bent to the bottom? Betting that was a pretty good fight!

On a lake with a frog! Yea I’m pretty new to fishing and I usually catch small fish. When he was coming in I just figured it was a fish that caught got in weeds. Then once I saw him I started flipping out. Using a bait caster I accidentally hit the button so it let out a ton of line. Thought I was gonna lose him. Used a heavy action rod.

another funny thing is it’s some tiny lily pad looking stuff he was under. Idk what it’s called. Shallow water

Nice! I love working the lily pads with a frog... You can get some great top water action that way.

Glad he didn't get away on ya!

Made a daylight raid on a local electric/self powered only lake with a bud. Maiden voyage for the new kayak. It's been at least 10 years since I've fished it. Jacked a few bass from the weedline on frogs, and found some crappie where I always used to catch them. Some things never change.

Took home 8 good 11-13" crappie.

I've got a river float next weekend. Place is full of native small mouths, the occasional sand bass(white bass), and a rare Tennessee strain small mouth. 50 fish days are the norm. I'm raring to go.

What kinda kayak are u using?

Man, you kayak guys have some beautiful boats, just looked them up!

I bought an entry level Future Beach sit-in angler at Dunham's several years ago. I wanted something stable, I kept flipping narrower kayaks (I'm a bit...um...top heavy). Anyway, that thing is nearly impossible to flip. I've used it for fishing and fun, though it doesn't track the greatest on long paddles.
I've beat the snot out of that thing, and she keeps on going. If I upgrade, I would probably get a sit on top w/ foot peddles.
I went with a sit-in because of the colder Michigan water in October. But on the rare occasion that you do flip this thing over, you have to find your way to a bank or shallows to get back in it. The sit-ons I know you can climb right back on.

What you failed to notice was the 10ft Gator swimming in thr background of the pic my dad is in.

We'd definitely need a bigger boat for hik if we'd have gotten a tag this year
Crikey! I did miss that!

Yesterday while fishing I jumped in to beat the 90+ heat here in VT. Fortunate that nothing swims these waters that could eat me!
