Yea, I was going to mention your Ambush platform mod (the beast stick containment slot-bracket part) to Kyhunter66, but it didn't look like there was enough space to do something similar with the Beast stand given it's short tree bracket.

Lots of hunting situations for different folks, I understand concerns about sticks in either orientation.

As designed, looks like some overhang is needed for the mini beast sticks to stack horizontally up the post, which I find better than the shelf. MY shoulders are wider than 20" so I'm not seeing it as a major problem.

Kyler's comment just got me thinking about, what happened to the showdown.

It would take two stick rods to do this but shouldn't be hard. Pack your sticks together with one rod depending how many you want to carry. Then looks like a two stick rod would work for the length. Would have to make a short crossbar for stick rod to span two sticks. Tighten down then use your tree strap and sinch top down. Looks something like this but the shortest rod I have is a 3. And I don't have much interest in carrying them this way I want the shelf. Another idea would be to get one of those rubber expanding bushings that fit the hole in the post just screw in untill tight higher on the post.

The more I carry the stand the more I like the rod stacked the weigh is not bad the rod going through the sticks is what I'm not happy with stealth strips are wareing and unwrapping on the rod may try some rubber tubing.
 
I don't like having the sticks vertical because I'm short the mini sticks don't stick out much on the sides any way.

Try using a 2" wide piece of stealth strip instead of the 3" wide that came with it. I tore off the first one I put on and redid it with a 2" wide strip. Works much better. The 3" inch is too much material. I had the same problem.

Do you have stelth strips on your sticks? Did you cut a hole in it for the rod?
 
After using my beast stand Saturday I set up in different trees in my yard the stand reminds me of the Assaults 2 more all the time but so much lighter and locks in as good or better the wide V is really nice and the tree bracket is amazing it bites good but not to deep if I had the extra money I would buy a second one for a backup stand! I think it's the best money can buy.

I like the wide bottom V, I was wondering how the geometry compares to stands like OG LW. I have some big trees I hunt.

Yeah that wide V is honestly going to cost me 650 bucks. Can't stand the narrow V on my 0.5. Wish they'd take the V geometry from the 2.0 and use it across the line up. From what u can tell, the 2.0 V is the same as the alpha

The first Assault stands had the small V and the .5 I tried had the same didn't like it!!! The Assault 2 was fixed later and the beast stand is even better.
 
The .5 did almost kick out on me not for me!! The Assault 2 was the best until The Beast!!

Yeah my sandcast had the same V. Might as well just be two contact points like the a climbing stick. Never going to be sitting in a tree so small the inside face of the V comes into play..

Dan talked about that a long time ago LW improved the Assault stand with the bigger V from complaints from hunters but it added weight with the beast stand it is so light the box weighed more than the stand!!!!
 
Sold my OG Assault because cam-locking that stand was a joke. Trees larger than a basketball in diameter it wouldn’t be stable unless you cam-locked, then after cam-locking, added a second strap on the bottom. Even then, stand had play....

My Alpha did great, just got old hauling a 14# stand around plus 3-5 sticks.

When I had the .5 I was hunting last season and went to step on the platform after pushing down on seat and lifting the platform to lock my new cam strap slipped a 1/2 in and the platform kicked out thank full my lineman belt was on and my tether was hooked up. I know that was a bad cam buckle but the stand should not have kicked out that easily!!!
 
I haven’t had an issue with the 1.0. It actually bites better than any of my other stands I have had. My only gripe is the sharp edges. Other than that I think it’s pretty on point.

My beast stand will be here on Tuesday. I am gonna compare it head to head with the 1.0 and one will stay the other will go.

Is the V on the 1.0 bigger the the .5?
