I have the LWCG.5 and use my diy stick made from beast step, OOAL flat scout and EEO standoffs, acks great. Been debating on whether to get the LWCG 1.0, for late season hunts.

Sweet setup. I love my 1.0 and highly recommend it. And there i will say a few upgrades coming out fir the lwcg stands pretty soon
Because of the holes on the Beast Sticks, you may be able to figure out a j-hook type system with Beast Sticks to secure them vertically. It would differ from what is shown here in a LWCG system though, not only because of the advantageous grommet/port alignment, but because of the way Beast Sticks stack. The high stacking profile would cause interference with the seat shelf, so they’d have to be turned so the standoffs are pointing towards the outside. I don’t love it, but it could be made to work I. You’d still have to run stick attachment rods for stick-stick connection, or maybe design a U-hook that is spaced to run through both sticks or something like that Instead of a J-hook like LWCG has.
i agree but those rods snd hooks i am not a fan of.
Jyst another thing to bang or even thread in wrong.
You cross thread that thing once and its a done deal.
Thats why i think and am very suprised Dan went with that rod.
I think its a horrible idea.
I believe it was probably Mario’s idea since he i think seems to be the silent guy calling the shots anymore.
the whole rod idea just doesnt seem to be an idea Dan would have. But who knows.
i watched a video of that rod thing and man it was loud as hell. Clanged snd banged like metal.
Good luck sneaking up so called beast style on a buck bed making that noise lol.
no thanks.
650$ a steep price for a deer stand anyway.
seems to me its getting crazy with the pricess of the equipment coming out.
If i wanted to really help people i wouldnt have raised my prices 20$ a stick and 150$ more than a competitor during a pandemic. It all just doesnt add up to me.

Ok, get the LWCG sticks, problem solved. (That’s what I’d do).

I was just trying to suggest, if you are particularly wetted to your beast sticks, that the pre existing holes on the beast sticks offer an opportunity to develop a vertical packing solution. Else you could get Stick Talons. Or stick with your bungee system. I wouldn’t change anything that’s working for you with something more complicated and expensive. Bungees just aren’t my favorite, but I also don’t use just two sticks like you do. For me, it’s carry more or fewer. All the pics I’ve seen of the Beast guys, they’re just using bungees, so there’s that.

You keep saying sticks snagging is a big problem for you. If you can handle the issues with stability, the LWCG DoubleSteps will give you the smallest profile. Maybe thats your answer after all.

Thnks msn. Appreciate the suggestion

I have owned shikars. Lwcg doubles and minis and beast sticks. I sold shikars because it was too much moving parts. It made time at bottom tree too long. I sold the doubles due to kickout too much. I used them with amsteel and I used the tabs instead of a button. The stick would kick out after I would step off of it and onto the next stick or the platform. I would look down and there it would be kicked out.

They shouldnt kick out.
are you setting them?
gotta givem a good seat ifnot all sticks will bounce

How does the LWCG system compare to an Assault with Talons & beast sticks?

Honestly If I were to use an Assault setup with the Stick talons, I'd prefer the original Lone Wolf stick over the Beast sticks. The reason is packability and that is high on my priority list for how and where I hunt.

I have the original Lone Wolf 8.5 and a LWCG.5 with mini sticks. If I use the 8.5 assault, I use 4 mini sticks and use two of their J-hooks to attach them to that stand. This is the best compromise for straight up packability.

The LWCG sticks pack flat and make a world of difference compared to any other stick setup I've used in the past. I can carry in my sticks and cold weather clothes with not nearly the same bulk as I used to have; In addition, the perceived weight is so much less having all of that weight right up against your back.

The .5 and minis is the ultimate combo though. Really tough to beat unless I'm hunting all dayers.

I do love the Talons though. They were my go to until I sold my OG lone wolfs.

The button is too high on them. All the tension is on the top standoff bolts the bottom flops around. Those sticks suck.
They just dont work for you.
Ive heard a great deal of good reviews of the doubles.
i doubt very much they suck.
Andre did say they are meant to be-used with straps not ropes or amsteal.
i gave another custom set i built that i only use straps with because of the same thing

No they suck, they're about as good as a Walmart stick.

I set them, they are the only sticks I have ever had this issue with. To me the doubles do not like solid oak trees. Which is mostly what I am climbing. Water oaks is my most climbed tree, the stand offs I wasn’t a fan of either. Some trees it was impossible to get all 4 to touch the tree. If the tree was crooked it had issues bitting as well. And when I say kick out it seemed to be doing it because the top of the stick was so tight against the tree that it pushed the bottom of the stick away from the tree. I had never seen a stick do it. It goes back to attachment point being to high. And the tabs are lower than the button.

I loved the way the sticks stacked for transport and how lite they are. To me there the best when it comes to putting them together. I used them for the major part of my season. I just had the issues above.

I doubt that highly considering the price and the great reviews they get.

You must not be setting them correctly
What works for you may not work for someone else and vise versa.
kicking out would be a high priority safety issue that would probably stop sales due to saftey and eventually law suits
Thanks for the input though

Then go buy a set and try them your self. They need to go back to the drawing board.

Something I have learned. Is all the you tubers that give reviews on these products are most of the time first impressions. They have barely put the stand or sticks on the tree. And for me I stop watching them when I figure that out. To me they should be making these reviews after countless hours of using the product, not first impressions. If you don’t believe the sticks kick out, you need to get a set and use the for a season. There not bad sticks but they have some issues. I have been using sticks for 7 years. so I have a lot of time using them and several different styles and brands.
