Beast sticks vs lwcg sticks

LWCG already announced they are coming out with another Double Step Stick...

Yes a longer one and they are changing the standoffs. I asked Andrae if they are moving the attachment point down. He said not likely he doesn’t want people to permanently bend the sticks.

With that said there is a reason why companies put the attachment point ~1/3 down from the top...

Out of curiosity, where is the standoff on the LWCG? 1/4 of the way down?

I am not sure exactly. I didn’t measure before I shipped them out of my life. But I want to say closer to 1/6. 1/4 would be an improvement

The big selling feature to me of the .5 stand was the way the sticks pack, I can’t even wrap my head around having a lwcg tree stand and needing new sticks and not buying the lwcg sticks, if a person had awesome sticks already that would make sense, but for packability, tree stand and sticks... LWCG currently has it figured out

For packability they sure do. If I was buying LWCG sticks to pack with a stand without a question I would pick the compact sticks.

Something I have learned. Is all the you tubers that give reviews on these products are most of the time first impressions. They have barely put the stand or sticks on the tree. And for me I stop watching them when I figure that out. To me they should be making these reviews after countless hours of using the product, not first impressions. If you don’t believe the sticks kick out, you need to get a set and use the for a season. There not bad sticks but they have some issues. I have been using sticks for 7 years. so I have a lot of time using them and several different styles and brands.
I agree. To a point.
Im not arguing with ya believe me. i get it you buy a high dollar product and it doesnt perform.
this is why i always say guys who hunt less than 2-3 sits a week should invest in novix , lone wolf, xop etc.
600$ deer stands and 120$ sticks are just not imho worth it for weekend warriors.
this weight thing comes down to one thing and one thing only.
Motivation.
If your an xtreme hunter like me or a few on here than yes its worth it. If not than no. Save your money for your retirement years when you have more time.
I am far far from an expert but i know quality and equipment that works for me.
lwcg makes super quality equipment. They have for long long time.
i have been using lw sticks since andre started lone wolf back in i think 90’s.
been saddle hunting off and on since 2007 so with that said.
i bought a lwcg 1.0 and have i think 20 sits or so.
I love it.
If you dont like a product by the 10-12 sit your wasting time.
Get rid of it.
Doesnt take a season to know if it will work or not for you.
Testing products for duribility is seasonal testing.
First impressions on a product usually make or break it.
Have you yourself used the sticks for a season?
Id say you can't really review a product ti id say probably mid season.
all my reviews on all the products i give probably have at least a dozen uses.
I watch the ones i trust on youtube and there is not many.
i watch zero of thp, the beast or any other commercialized youtube channels that have
Imho completely sold out.
Dan swore henevet wolf do what he is now doing and boom. Its always about a product.
this goes back to preferences. What one likes or is comfortable with.
ibeli You that the sticks kick out but im saying most of that is caused by user mistakes. Sticks are being used as a step alot especially in saddle hunting. Sitcks are not designed for side pressure which will cause kick outs no matter what stick you use.
this is probably why this is happening. I think i will get a set to see for myself how bad a 100$ stick is.
again im sorry but im thinking your problem is user error and you don’t realize it.

Define “xtreme hunter”...

definition of an Xtreme hunter.
hunt 4-7 days a week and hunts both morning and afternoons.
why do you think thp, and infalt are so successful.
They hunt every day twice. Scout in between.
if someone. cant get on big bucks doing that.
pick a new hobby
I am great at getting on deer. I just suck at killing them. I seem to always be to far or he takes bad trail etc. lmao i love it though

I agree with you 100%. So much so that I actually already have awesome sticks (Beast) and I will continue to use them with my "traditional saddle" and ROS...But I will use the DS.5 with lwcg minis. I mean you have to, at least I think so. It is the lightest most compact system of it's kind at the moment.
With new technology and the D'acquisto's mindset, It has given me the green light to tweak my system after 15 yrs of exclusively saddle hunting. Also using my LWHC for 2 yrs has shown me what I want out of a platform which is a little more length and not width. No saddle platform or LWHC gives ME what I want....DS.5 does.

Why don’t you just learn to climb with the .5, it’ll be all the rage.......

Oh my!!

When I use it I will be leaning on a belt facing the tree. You know I can't sit in no "hang on" for more than 5 min....The LWHC showed me that I lean 99% of the hunt when I'm on a platform.

The first time I ever used a climber maybe 20 years ago, no safety harness, rifle over my back, and I never tied the top to bottom.... yup you guessed it, I got all the way up there super proud sat down on that shooting rail or whatever and down that bottom went straight to the ground, that was fun, I lost some skin on my belly coming down that night

They just dont work for you.
Ive heard a great deal of good reviews of the doubles.
i doubt very much they suck.
Andre did say they are meant to be-used with straps not ropes or amsteal.
i gave another custom set i built that i only use straps with because of the same thing

No it is a crap design. Button too high. Bolts for standoffs. God I can use any attachment method I want with my beast sticks and they don't move at all. If you can only use a cam strap and only set it one way it is a crap design and destined for failure. When are they gonna quite rushing crap to market and test stuff before it is launched. You are paying top dollar to test gear for them so they can change the design later and say we are so great we fixed it with the new design. Sharp edges cutting straps, lowering weight ratings after product sold out, miss drilled holes. This stuff should never happen at this price point. The other high end companies aren't having these problems. Tethrd has had few also with the predator. I am done with lwcg will never give them another penny after the ambush. What are we on now version 4 of that.

I got to see the beast stand in person last weekend and this stand is gonna blow away anything lwcg has. Attention to detail is impressive.

Let’s dial it back there’s pages of this same information in prior threads. No reason to war between the two camps , different strokes for different folks.

I over used the sticks past not liking trying to make myself like them. I hunt about a month straight and it’s a grind from dark to dark in the woods. I don’t come out for lunch on anything like that.
I used them with saddle setup and stand setup. I don’t do side pressure on them cause all there use for is the up and down climb.

Its obvious where your from lol.

i do agree. beast stuff is absolutely awesome gear.

it will probably blow everything away.
Im not disagreeing with you.
i have beast sticks but hate how they stack.
beast sticks had few issues bending at first too but they fixed quickly.
also most all companies go through testing stages snd have problems with merchandise they need to fix.
I am not a tester for anyone so i dont know where that label came from lmao

if you sell a product you will never please everyone.
problem is everyone has something different work for them so it varys so much its pointless to label a product or company.
point is they just diddnt work for you
the price of the beast stand is ridiculous
but if you want it and got it get it.
your money. Im too dam cheap for that.
i got lucky traded some stuff i don't use, sold some stuff and freed up the money for 1.0.
i thnk that snd the beadt srtup would be s 2 lb difference. Not enough imho to spend extra.
i love my 1.0. And probably eventually will sell all my saddle stuff now that i have a quality awsome stand.
i do admit like the saddle ROS but for short sits.
i hunted a platform this year and kept think i should have just brought my stand.
