Bullman Apex 2.0 for climbing

I need to update post 40.
Got out today to climb a little using the Apex steps, aider and the Timber hitch.
Since the step can move a little while climbing, especially with aiders, the timber hitch can loosen. I had a step loosen and I had a situation.
I Do Not Recomend Using a Timer Hitch with Apex steps.
I changed all my steps back to the buckle, daisy and truckers hitch.

Any further updates? I’m thinking of dropping from 3 LWCG compacts to 2 and adding one or two of these steps to get my height.

What about the combination of treehopper steps and using the ultimate step attachment? No truckers hitch or anything else, simply using the step attachment as intended but with a treehopper step.

I am not saying I am going to do this, or I recommend it, just tinkering around.
This is a spin off of the tree step and aider method. Which I tried and did not like not having something solid like a climbing step to grab on to.
Pick 1, hang stick so bottom step is 4 steps high off ground. You will need a aider with two loops as shown. One loop at 2 step distances and one at 3.

Pick 2, place tree step 2 step distance off ground. Aider in right foot, top loop on bottom knob, aider is first step, tree step is second step.

Pick 3, move aider using first loop as shown on top knob, aider is step 3, stick is step 4.

These are Shikar sticks, other sticks may work with loop over step, if they are strong enough.
Two sticks and 2 steps 3lbs, 10oz get you 10 steps high.
Yes, I know I should be doing something productive like deer scouting. Waiting for the Turkey mites to die off.

At the Florida meet up I had a chance to try the Bullman Amsteel attachment. Steps were too loose.
Only thing that gets the Apex tight are a strap with buckle or maybe the new attachment comming in post 6.

I've got the new amsteel attachment method from bullman that incorporates a prussic but I haven't had a chance to test them. I know the daisy chain amsteel and TH steps was too loose.

We tried it on the Bullman platform steps. It may work better on a Apex step.
