While I understand the desire for a reliable buckle, do the buckles actually ever carry your weight? Seems like they are useful for keeping the saddle from falling off when not using bridge or linesman, but when am I ever hanging from my buckles?

This buckles is almost as small as the Cruzr leg buckles

"Should not be load bearing" is exactly right, but could be load-bearing if things go wrong. I can absolutely imagine a scenario where I leaned too hard to one side and toppled over, putting me upside down and only held in by the buckle. Is it a likely scenario? Not at all. Is it possible? Absolutely. That's why I'm considering spending the extra $ for a name-brand buckle--peace of mind!I am still confused though. The belt buckle should not be load bearing unless I am missing something. All your load should be on your bridge loops or your linesman loops no? I am having a hard time thinking of a situation where my belt or leg buckles is every carrying my weight, but I might be having a brain fart??
The belt buckle is considered load bearing in a fall. The leg straps are not.
Still not sure why all the shade is being cast on Cruzr. Apparently every other saddle company out there is being more upfront on who their suppliers are? Doubt it.
Even if their buckle was good to 25% of what it was supposedly rated to, it'd still be good for 1300lb of force.
tethrd and Aerohunter use raptor buckles
H2 and Cruzr use what looks like the same no name buckles.
I changed my waist buckle to a raptor buckle and leg buckles to Tethrd hooks.

@Chad Rice, can you silence these guys? I'm sure if you took the time to have CRUZR engraved in the belt buckles, you looked into whether the buckle was suited for the use...
I see you really took to heart my comment about not being condescending. Why does it get under your skin so bad that folks are trying to learn more about the device to which they're trusting their life? Nobody said "Cruzr sucks!" or anything like that; nobody disrespected the company; nobody said one single negative thing about Chad or the way he runs his business. Guys are just asking about material sourcing. Maybe it's time for you to move on from the conversation if you have nothing meaningful to add...can you silence these guys?

H2 posted on FB at the beginning of July that they switched to AustriAlpin buckles.
Honestly I think I've added more than you have at this point. so far you've posed leading questions and long winded analogies. Thanks for adding something "meaningful".I see you really took to heart my comment about not being condescending. I've already bought a Cruzr saddle and love it, so they already have my money. Why on earth do you care so much about whether others and I spend our own money to upgrade a potentially life-saving component? I honestly have no idea why you're so bothered over this, as, again, no one here has said a single negative thing about the company or the saddle. People like me without climbing experience rely on the opinions of other, more experienced folks on this forum to inform our safety decisions, and that's what's being discussed in this thread.Honestly I think I've added more than you have at this point. so far you've posed leading questions and long winded analogies. This whole guilty until proven innocent mentality makes me nauseous.
I went out and hung from just the waist belt today. Even bounced via some hip thrusts. It held if that makes y’all feel better about a no brand name weight rated buckle.
