Louisiana Bowhunter Podcast just did an episode with Chad from Cruzr. Towards the end he talks about upcoming products like a gear hanger, dump pouch etc. But one intriguing thing is they have some climbing sticks coming out.

The way he explains it is they are partnering with another company and it is going to "change the game". Not the usual materials used for sticks, less than 1lb per stick, and 3 sticks packed up will be less than 3" tall.

You can listen for yourself if you like, or maybe I'm late to the party but sounds really, really cool. Will this be the first $200 stick?

Yeah, Chad mentioned the new sticks in the Ariel Assault ATA video. But no details on them. It's interesting to hear of a collaboration.

There was mention of the Lattitude sticks in the Split Brow Productions ATA review of their platforms, but also no details.

What else we looking at?

Out on a limb has new sticks coming out.

The 14” LWCG sticks that were supposed to be out last year.

I know of 2 other sticks on the horizon. Pending patent approvals.

Yeah, I guess OOAL showed their hand early.

Some intrigue here with the others.

What do you guys think this stick is going to be made from to get below 1 LB?

I had to call them. Expecting new stick out in May or June. Would not give me any additional info.
I offered to pay them to be a field tester. When that didn't work, I thru in a fishing trip. LOL.

At this point I have seen sticks made from steel, aluminum, titanium, carbon fiber and pvc/abs plastic. I am dying of curiosity about what else a stick could possibly be made out of!!! So if he’s saying it isn’t using normal stick materials, he has my full attention (and possibly my money too )

@GeoFish
Marine grade foam with epoxy fiberglass laminate….
I think you may be right, some sort of injected fiberglass. I have been internet searching and I see several options.
I said in a previous post, I am not buying any high priced gear that has not made it through one hunting season and I see honest reviews on this site.
CAN I TAKE THAT STATEMENT BACK?

I don’t have any inside knowledge, I just know I have suggested a few times that platforms and sticks could be made from those materials since they are often used in harsher marine environments. The normal is someone with more financial resources will take that idea and bring it to fruition. I am looking forward to seeing whatever it is that he has come up with. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it is literally this exact material type. In my opinion though the standoffs would still need to be some sort of metal as carbon fiber and fiber glass laminate will both be damaged with repeated wear and tear against tree bark.

Ignoring this thread actually. I’m tryna buy shotguns man,,,, but I love the thought of some Cruzr sticks!

Maybe jello? Would you spend your money on a stick made out of jello?

Marine grade foam with epoxy fiberglass laminate….

top end recurve limbs for a while have been made of layers of carbon held apart by foam with the foam acting in part like a spacer (dense foam)

it actually could work

did you see the post here where MIT made a super plastic that is the same weight as regular plastic but several times stronger than steel?

if that discovery is legit, it will revolutionize almost everything in our life and will trickle down to sticks and platforms
