First Lite UV Glow

Not sure about non-camo. Never looked for that but there may be something from one of the clothing companies that make gear for climbers that fits the bill. Thought we were talking about hunting clothes. I have a light jacket from Columbia that is water and wind resistant that has a light fleece lining. It is not wind proof but does a good job of cutting wind a lot. There are lots of golf pullovers that are wind blocking and water resistant that could be paired with a light fleece vest or jacket.

Gotcha, yeah that’s why I buy camo for my cold weather gear. They don’t make quiet, durable, warm gear for anyone but hunters. Down to 45 degrees or so I’m all set because I have regular clothes I wear that perform great, but once it gets much colder than that I need more warmth without bulk.

i have been interested in "Shiver Shield" for a while now but it is expensive. They have camo but also offer products in solid colors, black I know for sure. Anyone that owns and uses it please chime in.

I have a FirstLite furnace base layer set and I must say, at first it was nice. One wash and the proportions are way off, their sizing is terrible, never again.

Had the same issue with the Chama hoody, it became a Chama Belly shirt. Washed per directions hung to dry.

I've never had an issue with their sizing. It tends to run a little big, but I have washed the furnace base layers and all of my other FL gear and never had any issues with them shrinking after.

I've always been really happy with their stuff until now. Kinda bummed. I'm looking into how to rebuild my layering kit not. I might pick up a quiet puffy and a quiet soft shell. I just don't like not having anything local to hear and feel.

The pants are cut like girls 90s low cut pants, no junk room up front and my cheeks hang out the back. Shirt is fine in sleeves, tight in cuffs and at my belly button.

Does anyone know how the Sitka stuff compares in UV? I’m looking at the fanatic and fanatic lite stuff.

Haha 90s low cut paints.... My obsidians fit pretty well, but I agree up front they could use a little more room. What shirt is that short? All of my FL stuff is longer than any other shirts I have in the same size. I'm 6'1" 225 and their larges fit me perfect.

Early tests of black flashlight on my old Northbranch set looks pretty decent / nothing alarming, will be interesting to compare across different fabrics.

The furnace set, cut wicked short. I'm 6'1" and 175, maybe I should go up a size...everyone around my weight said medium, haha.

I got the UV Killer in the mail today. We'll see what happens. I sprayed it on and immediately noticed a difference. I brushed it into the fabric and seams with a 3" chip brush and sprayed it heavy again to finish. The negative reviews I've seen say it doesn't have the same effect once it dried. I have the coat hanging outside and I'll update everyone. I have a wool Stormy Kromer hat in blaze orange that glows REAL bad (any fluorescent color glows like neon). The UV Killer didn't touch the blaze orange. It doesn't even look like its on there and soaked the hat pretty good.

Left is Treated, Right is Untreated

Wow! That's amazing! Not the results I experienced at all. Love it though!

Did you wash it before hand? Did you spray the UV Killer on while the jacket was still damp like the instructions state?

Also, what's your address? I need to send some stuff to you and have you treat it. :D

Not surprisingly looks like a case by case fabric by fabric issue... ASAT Woodbury treated on the left of the pic, untreated on the right, the fabric doesn’t look like a problem even before being sprayed. White sock for calibration.

At least wet, I do notice a faint elmers glue smell from the spray.

Bruh, do you even hunt? It's always the equipment's fault. :)

If you are set up in a marginal tree (because that's the only one that works for that buck) and can't get super high, then you need all the help you can get. I've been perfectly motionless and they look right at you. Also, in anyone that has worn a ghillie or a good leafy suit knows that camo actually does matter, it's just that most camo isn't very good and doesn't break up your outline.

I wish someone with scientific chops of an optical kind would explain the difference between UV, flourescence and reflective materials. And what, if any, effect they have on deer.

I have reflective materials that shows up under black light.
I have blaze/fluorescent orange clothing that shows up under Black light.
I have other clothing (UV brighteners) that shows up under Black light.

What, of the three, do deer pick up on.

I firearm hunt with blaze/fluorescent orange. I also have some reflective life lines. Both no hunting issues that I am aware of. Both light up under black light. I have some clothing that glows under black light. Never thought about if it was an issue.

Keyword “scientific”. We don’t need joe hillbilly postulating what he “thinks” is right. We need someone whose confidence tracks with his/her knowledge on the topic. Not a virgin trying to teach a prostitute how to fornicate for profit.

Any experts here? Seriously, I want to get educated on this topic.
