Last year I snorted some fairy dust but just a taste...took my 330 Injexions and added 75 grain insert + 25 grain Iron will outsert, plus a 125 grain Iron Will for 550 ish grains. Problem was I couldn't get them to paper tune perfectly. But they zipped through everything I shot. I'm pretty sure they were underspined for my set up.
Fast forward to some lessons learned, a whole snout full of fairy dust, and I did the Ethics Archery test kit -
Sirius Apollo 250s cut to 30.5"
100 grain insert
225 grain field tip
TAW: 650 grains without fletching.
This combo shoots bullet holes out of my 65 pound APA Mamba Air.
So I'll be setting up some arrows with a 130 grain insert, 65 grain outsert, and 125 grain wide Iron Wills.
One thing I noticed about the Sirius shafts and ethics components is how SPOT ON they are in terms of weight and straightness. The cut arrows were all the same weight, not +- anything. The inserts were all within 0.1 grain of each other.
