Just curious how others are carrying their phones when out scouting and using apps such as OnX where you're frequently referring to a map or placing pins on maps? I use a backpack with paracord in it for installing presets, carrying water, and carrying cameras. I also carry a single stick since I like to put my cameras up out of reach of those who are less than scrupulous and may want to "borrow" my cameras forever. I want to at least make them work for it.
I'd been carrying my phone in my front pocket, but recently decided to try a pouch like this attached to the shoulder strap of my backpack (a Badlands Tenet for those interested):
I'm not really fond of it - I'll need to cover 3/4 of the velcro to make it easier to open since I already punched myself in the side of the head a few times trying to get it open as it slid up the shoulder strap before finally opening when I was testing it out and feeding the chiggers last weekend. Or maybe mount it sideways.
Anyway - I'm curious what others may be using that may be better, so please share!
