How much have you spent on your saddle setup?

2 saddles, platform 10 WE steps all the climbing fixins, stuff for new arrows, I wouldn't want to know the actual cost, but I put it in the same spending category as groceries, tooth paste, mortgage etc. Hunting is my life's blood. However much it is to date and in the future, it's all money well spent. Fortunately the wife has no idea. I keep telling her venison is the most inexpensive meat per pound we eat.... just like Kobi beef. But we all know that's not true.

Probably around 800...stimulus check got spent quickly lol. Phantom kit w/predator then the SRT kit from wesspur

For me probably 150 all in as I am a big diy'er but now ask me how much I spent on machinery to make my gear, welder, sewing machines 3d printer and so on, so in truth it would have been far cheaper to buy them from a supplier, lol but were's the fun in that.

I'm all new to saddle hunting, but this is in the past two weeks.
$265 - Cruzer Saddle
$18 - 2 Amazon Dump Pouches
$24 - 80' of 7/64 amsteel to make daisy chains for sticks
$99 - 20" Hawk Heliums
$50 - Kong Duck for linesman rope

$456 in and I will be getting a Predator or Ridge Runner platform when I find a good deal on one.
For now I'm using my old Muddy rope for a linesman rope and an old HHS rope for my tether.

Hey now, don't put me on the tier with those guys, hell they probably have more than 4 saddles each currently....technically down to 2!!!!
You’ll be surprised to know I have only 2. Although I did own 3 kites awhile back (it’s a problem)

Saddle setup is but a small piece of my spending. I don’t even want to know how much I’ve spent on this hunting hobby thing. Stands, saddles, bows, arrows, all manner of accessories, packs, cloths, etc.

At least having not added things up I can claim ignorance!

My current count is 4 commercially purchased and two DIY version (working on a third) saddles. I'm starting to think I may have a problem . . . . .

Edit: I think I've discovered my problem. I only have 5 platform options. I need to start shopping for another platform! :tearsofjoy:

Not mine. This will be my first year saddle hunting. I’ve bought a jx3 and helium full length sticks to start with. Then I decided before climbing with them I needed daisy chains. No need to pay someone to make them so I ordered enough 1/8” amsteel to supply half the people herewith daisy chains. That’s a slight exaggeration but needless to say I got plenty. Then I think one stick and rappelling sounds good so off to DanO I go. Get myself some htp a safeguard and autoblock. Also get oplux tether and lineman’s. At this point I realize I only need a hand ascender for SRT so off to amazon I go. Somewhere through this whole process I buy 5 sewing machines of which one is industrial so I can make my own saddle/saddles. Now I purchase webbing, mesh, buckles and g-hooks. I make several saddles that I’m happy with. Now someone mentions the 20” heliums for sale on Camofire so I can’t pass up a good deal. Somewhere along the line someone mentions wespur has a sale so I thought DRT looked interesting so 75’ of predator is shipped to my house. Since I own land and I’ve read great things about using bolts off to eBay I go and buy bolts. Then to amazon for heat shrink for the bolts. To the hardware store for a drill bit and a stop for it. Then tonight I need more webbing so off to DanO again. Since I’m ordering from there I decided I might as well get the canyon-iv rope I’ve been eying since he got it. I’m afraid to even try to total all of this up. Numbers might be scary but I’ve had a hell of a good time. Probably not done spending either. Surprised my wife hasn’t killed me yet. Lol. I did sell one sewing machine for $30 though.

Ha....I think we've all bought and sold a lot...sometimes that's just what it takes to find what works for our body and hunting style.

Only if you count the jx3. And we’re talking about current market commercially available correct? I still don’t have any more invested in saddles than @Vtbow has in 1980’s camo.
Hey, Trebark and mossy oak treestand are coming back!

It's probably best to not really know, that being said, I've sold a lot of this on here too, after trying is and deciding that it wasn't for me... Here's a portion, without totals. This has been since March... ***! LMAO!

Let's keep my bow setup, other hunting stuff, rifles, and camo out of the conversation. This is my life and what "I DO"! Considering everything; my wife is awesome! She's not a diehard, but she does hunt as well.

There's other stuff too, that I can't think of right now...

I can probably claim a bunch of people/companies as dependents lol. Here's to @DanO , Wesspur, and Wild Edge. The saddle setups have really been a one-time setup purchase, so...

I like to keep in mind that a lot of my purchases help fund other people's purchases and really the paypal just stays on saddle hunter, you know the "What I"m spending is helping others" side of it :) ... and honestly I dont think i'm in the hole on anything when you look at the big picture...sure I"ve dished about a lot of money over the last 4 years, but I'm probably still only "out" the $300 I spent on a leather greens and 50 screw in cranford T's 4 years ago.

Kinda true here too, I guess. Usually, my "hunt" money just rotates in a buy/sell/trade/buy whirlpool lol. I'm sure I lose a bit, but nothing that I'm stressing over!

Either way it always ends up costing a little money to have fun in the end. At least it does for me.
