We never see it but enjoy those moments. I'm empty nest in 3 years and regret everything I didn't do when they where young. The problem is... When I break out my saddle gear, there is a 6yr old boy who want to swing from the tree. And my 8 year old wanted to as well. So I had to set some ropes in the tree and the. Like to swing around the tree at ground level in there harness. Great that they do it. But cuts down on the time I have to mess around with my one sticking. I did get one move in. Wasn't to bad. Playing with bridge options and how I want to rapell out still. Gotta get one of those washers.
For the rappel aspect, learn the munter hitch and klemheist. This will absolutely get you done and only requires a rappel rope, prusik cord and (2) biners. Everything after that just makes it easier.
